My original issue was with TEC (Tribe). Misposted here. Apologies.

Site is fixed. Fortunately, I remembered what I did last ‘upgrade’ so it only took me a half hour to fix this time. Last time, it took most of the day. I’ll add stars because I do appreciate your efforts, but I was super frustrated.

To fix, I had to deactivate and uninstall events shortcode, ftp into my host and delete the plug-in directory, and reinstall both. TES was not in the WP plug-in menu after upgrade. Somehow, the upgrade process removes it from WP.

@melanyh I saw the /src/ subdirectory in my CPanel equivalent at first and assumed the files were properly installed, but I was wrong. Then I deleted the entire “The Events Calendar” directory again and installed via zip. After reactivating, everything came back. Hope you are able to get this working again.

Thanks, @erishel Ed. I actually did that. At first, it did not work, but then I realized that I needed to Activate in the Plugins Menu, so I did, and everything came back. Thanks for your help, but it was a big scare.

How precisely did you get it working. I seem to be stuck. Deleted wp-content/plugins/eventcal (excuse shorthand). Install failed, ZIP install timed out but at least populated a newly created directory. Still not working.

@erishel If I “Delete the-events-calendar plugin folder and reinstall”, my DB will still remain intact, right?

…and it looks like there are updated files in the plugins directory on my host…

More data: Cannot reinstall EC either from WP plugin manager or via a ZIP file. Fails saying

Installation failed: Connection lost or the server is busy. Please try again later.

or, in the event of the zip

Thank you. I had no clue about the function/existence of the text tab. That’s where the P and PRE tags were and it did the trick.
