First, I would NOT install “Change Memory Limit” if I were you. It hasn’t been updated in more than two years and I had problems even trying to get it installed in my multisite. There are other more recently update plugins that you might want to try.

I have been using WP RSS Multi Importer and have had similar problems as those described here. It works fine for /category displays but widgets fail, especially attempting to display RSS links from Yahoo Pipes. Where there should be a listing of RSS feed titles, the latest version displays the text “There is a problem with the feeds you entered. Go to our support page and we’ll help you diagnose the problem.” The “support page” links to https://www.allenweiss.com/wp_plugin which is a page that doesn’t exist!

This is on reliable shared hosting I have used for about 8 years. However, of the 35 or so plugins I have installed, more than half seem to require 5.3 and don’t have any problem.

I am happy to facilitate the investigation of this. What modules does Apache need for FeedWordPress Advanced Filters to work? I’ll ask my host if they are getting loaded.

I am getting this error on a multisite using PHP 5.3.27. I can install it on the net dashboard, but if I activate it on a site I get:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /wp-content/plugins/faf/feedwordpress_advanced_filters.php on line 155

I use FWP on several sites, I only had problem with one. Judging by the other support threads, others also had problems but I don’t believe that FWP was necessarily the culprit.

I uninstalled FWP, upgraded the network to 3.6 and re-installed (not using a feed or two that was not very well behaved) and it’s running like a champ.

I have tried all the major rss pull plugins and FeedWordpress is the best, cleanest and most reliable. I just made a donation to the author because I want him to keep it updated, perhaps more of us should do the same?

FYI, not mentioned in this thread is the FeedWordpress duplicate filter. Unfortunately it hasn’t been updated since Feb. 2012 and when I tried to activate it WP coughed up a message that it caused a fatal error that prevented it from activating it.

I am having the same issue with this plugin, though not on the primary domain for the multisite(!), which is at 3.6. It seems to be affecting only one site, and the only difference with that install is I attempted to use an .xml link which may not have been well-behaved in the first place.

There were 39 feeds, I went through and batch-unsubbed to all – it took 15 minutes for the dashboard to come back, there were 40k posts and the feeds hadn’t really unsubbed but all the original posts were gone – and now it seems to be working okay.
