Moving to your VPS sounds like some permissions have remained the same from the previous, probably with different user name or group and that might be causing the problems.

In reply to: I can't insert images into my postsSince you can upload photos it means that you have permissions to do that. Can you check if you can see on of the photos you uploaded using the absolute path? For example: domain.com/blog/wp-content/photo.jpg

Did you change any files on your web server?
Do you see the other photos in your web server if you login with FTP?
Can you upload photos via FTP?Make sure you have the default settings enabled on your web server and double check the permission on your server.

Do you use a page cache plugin? If yes, do you cache pages for logged-in users too? If that’s the case, uncheck that option and clear the cache before trying again.
Try to clear the browsers cache as well.

In reply to: WordPress Partial Export only 4KB file?Have you checked your web servers limits for uploading files, PHP memory size and script timeout time?
If your files are huge, importing them will take some time. Usually longer than the time PHP is configured to allow for a script to run. As a results PHP stops the scripts after X amount of minutes.
Make sure to reverse back to the default values after you finish the import.
