This is the solution that we have been using. We have the Avada theme, so your mileage may vary.

1. Add the Image element
2. “Upload Image” button to get PDF
3. Upload PDF or if the PDF is already in the Media library, you have to change the filter media type to Documents to force it to show PDF files.
4. Copy file URL
5. Click on the Insert into post button to add
6. Paste the file URL into Picture Link URL box
7. Save

We’ve been able to identify that the images of the PDF file are being generated, but the image tag is not being created when you Add Media to bring the PDF in from the Media Library.

Note: We are using the Classic Editor, not the block editor.

Thanks for getting back to me. You’re right about it being a caching issue.

I disabled the LiteSpeed Cache plugin and the post broadcast fine, as well as pulling deleted child posts.

When I did the troubleshooting, I didn’t turn off any plugins at the network level.

I’m having this problem also. My existing PDF thumbnails are displaying fine, but inserting any new PDF files only gets me a text link instead of a thumbnail preview. This occurred after updating to WordPress 5.3.2 from 4.9. I’ve tried disabling all of my plugins and using a basic theme. No difference.

I have updated the Link Library plugin to 6.1.18 and Relevansi is at 4.1.1.1.

I’m still getting no search results back.

I working on getting a DEV environment setup so I can test out the many plugins the site is using to see if it is something else that is conflicting with Link Library.

Relevanssi is a pretty important plugin for my organization. We have a large website and a good search tool is needed for our users. So if we can get Link Library to play nicely with Relevanssi, that would be great. Or is there a different search plugin that you know works with Link Library?

I ended up removing all of the search boxes from my link libraries. I’d love to be able to put the search boxes back if we can figure out why they stopped working.

I tried running the Re-Import Links. No changed with search results. I also tested with the ‘Links appear in search results’ and ‘Individual link pages can be seen by visitors’ checked and unchecked. Still no change.

This is the code that I have placed in a Code Block on the page https://salkeiz.k12.or.us/about-us/qam/ – “[link-library settings=12]” (not including the quote marks).

Since I work for a school district and most are out on summer break, there hasn’t been a lot of activity on the libraries until recently. So I’m not sure when the Search function stopped working. I can say that it was working at the start of June.
