I have exactly the same situation.
I couldn’t get the plugin working so I went to browse FAQ to find a solution. Then I saw this question and realized the Query Keyword option successfully changes the theme but URL prefix (my intended use case) does not for me as well. I also tried the options of setting specific URL and prefix with asterisk but they are not working either.
