In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterWell, for now, yes! The fact that V7.0 definitely did not work, then 4 or 5 version in it did, and then some other updates (probably WP itself) caused an incompatability is a frustration, especially when the plug-in that appears to be the culprit has not been updated.
I’m sure you can understand why I assumed it was a TML issue (maybe it still is!) but at least I found a workaround and this may help others ??

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterI have used code snippets in my child theme to achieve the same result.
Bottom line, it was defo that plugin that was to blame, but not sure whether the incompatibility is TML or WP. But I’m there…for now, at least!

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterSeems to be an incompatibility with plugin “Remove Dashboard Access” and either TML or latest WP. Since that plugin has not been updated for 10 months I’m dubious of it so have deactivated it and will look for an alternative.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterI always update plugins when they need it, and I think TML has had several updates since I finally installed V7.x Probably others too.
So, yes, things have changed. From memory: All-in-one SEO and Contact Form 7; and I think WP itself may have updated.
Every plugin, and WP, are 100% up to date.
If there are known plugin interaction issues, please let me know.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterNope, just whirrs away for a bit and then leaves you on the login page, not logged in.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterI reverted to V6.x, and waited on quite a few 7.x updates and then went for it again.
It worked. Cool. I even then paid for recaptcha extension. All was good.
Today, needed to login as admin and, FFS, cannot login again either as admin or as a dummy/test user.
The wp-login route still works but not via the TML login page.
WTF is going on as I don;t have time to fight plugins that misbehave. On 7.0.9 now.
Tell me what to do, or I will have to disable and finally give up on TML.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterThanks all – will have another go this evening ??

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterThanks for the input Petunia. TML 6.4.16 reactivated (and cache cleared) so back to where I was, but if I disable TML I can’t figure out where the default (client) logins happen.
I’m sure it’s a historic sequence of events…plugins added, themes changed, edits made, upgrades made; but I can’t not get back to a WP site that has default login from which I can move forward with either a new plugin or even TML 7.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disaster*I* can get in no problem. It’s site visitor/customer logins that are broken.
Maybe I’m missing the point ??

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterAgain, really appreciate you taking the time to help.
Its jigoshop, not woocommerce. But there may well be similar shortcodes…I’ll go look!

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterreally appreciate the suggestions…but, and sorry to be naive/inexperienced/dumb, but my login is all from menus which go to a specific login page that had the TML short code. How do I get back to the generic WP login? it’s SOOOO long ago that I got it all working!
https://www.jti.uk.com if you want to take a look ??

In reply to: [Theme My Login] V7 upgrade total disasterI agree – I always update to latest.
I disabled the plugin but still had no login functionality at all…its so long since I installed this plugin I can’t even remember what a default WordPress login should look like, let alone how to get it back!
I cannot explain this, but I 100% accept it is not your plugin – apologies.
I have not changed the logo nor any other of the trial/dev site WordPress settings yet for some reason it decided to serve up some links as non https. This has now stopped happening so who knows what I did.
Sorry to have troubled you.
OK…am now confused as only saw this after activating your plugin. I was able to “prove” this by deactivating and reactivating…but now it appears to behave whatever I do. I will investigate further and report back!
Oh – and google “google https” to see what I mean
