  • Yes, it is still happening. It was doing my head in, thinking it was Spectra, but it appears it is a Gutenberg issue (thanks to this post). In the “additional CSS” field that Spectra offers I re-declared the padding to be 0 as a workaround.

Totally weird behaviour. Not consistent between sites. When I clicked on the toolbar button the NextGen popup, it didn’t, it opened at the bottom of the edit page.

So I gave up, deleted all files except the wp-content folder and the config and .htaccess files, uploaded wp 2.71 again. Sweet. Then I try to auto-install TinyMCE Advanced, no-go needs at least 2.8! Ah ha, so I check it out on another installation, all working fine.

Back to the original site, auto update again to 2.8, install TinyMCE Advanced. Activate, test nextGen, OK, deactivate TinyMCE Advanced test nextGen still works. Reactivate TinyMCE Advanced, still OK.

Frontend? NextGen singlepics open ‘loading’ (thickbox) waiting waiting. Deactivate nextGen, reactivate. Thickbox popup now works perfectly.

Appears to be a little weird JavaScript in-compatibility, maybe it’s the order of the js includes? Someone might be able to tell us if these change order depending on when they are installed?

So any answers? Nup. But worth persisting.

I don’t know if this helps but this issue applies to one site I have, using Firefox and Chrome but not when I use IE8, with NO plugins activated.
However another site on the same server works fine across all browsers.
The browser uploader works fine across all combinations.
