Thank you threadi, but I had already done exactly that. I’m thinking that my only solution is to rename the new page and intentionally do a redirect.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] WP Total Cache only stays active for a few hoursHi Marko,
That is a good question – about updating.
All I know is that when I log in early in the morning it has reverted to the old slow load times.
Interestingly, I have an AdWords account with conversion tracking (with tags on my WordPress sites). Sometimes, early in the morning I get an error message from AdWords saying “tags inactive.” And just like with WP Total Cache – if I simply go to my WP Google Tag Manager plugin settings and click on ‘save’ – my tags become active again.
Let me write to a more general WordPress forum and see if there might be an answer there.
Thanks again for your help.
Tim

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] WP Total Cache only stays active for a few hoursThank you Marko for your reply,
With WP Total Cache installed, my site has been running (Using Uptrends) at about .1 to 1 seconds load time. After a few hours that speed drops to 8 to 15 seconds—and only 1/2 of the city checkpoints are even available.
I used GTmetrix this morning during a slow period and you can see the results here:
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/nonprofit.csd-i.org/K9zf77LZThis same exact phenomenon is happening on all three WP sites that my nonprofit manages. The three sites are hosted at the same cPanel account run by Namecheap.

Thanks again.

I was able to solve my problem by installing the plug-in:
SSL Insecure Content FixerIt automatically analyzes the problem and then under the Settings link you can choose fixes at different levels of complexity. Using the simplest fix, it took care of the http to https challenge for my media items and images in Media Library.
However I still had a mixed content challenge so I used:
https://www.whynopadlock.com/You simply enter your website address and it finds mixed content challenges that are not allowing you to see a green padlock. It gives you the specific problem, it’s URL and even the line number.
I discovered that I had two, old http protocols in my sidebar widget for images. I changed their http to https and suddenly had a green padlock.

In reply to: Creating a secure https: siteGood morning Steve,
Thank you for your reply.
No, the site is hosted at cPanel.
Okay then, how can I rebuild an old site—turning it into a new, modern site at WordPress “off-line” while the old site is still in operation?
And as I build this new, off-line site can I create it as an SSL site?
Is there like a plug-in for this
Thanks again for your help.
Sincerely Tim

In reply to: [Make] Header components came apart with Make updateFixed It!
When I updated to 7.13 all of the elements within my header area grew – and pushed each other out. [ex: Logo doubled in size and site title went from 18px to 42px]
I made the logo the old size and the fonts the old size.
With a couple of minor adjustments I’ll be perfect again.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for writing back.
Here is what they (Namecheap) said:
Subject: Attention: Malicious Attempt to Access Your Hosting Account
is DetectedThis is an automated alert to inform you that we have detected a malicious
attempt to access your account via http or ftp on our server
‘server177.web-hosting.com’.
Our security systems have blocked the upload of malicious file to the server
and put it to the quarantine. Your website is safe now, but it is important
you undertake the following precautions. [and they named the usual stuff like changing passwords]We have put the following content into quarantine as we believe it contains
viruses or other malicious code.
‘[PHP Exploit]’:
/home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-db-backup-made/sy
stem.php
‘(decoded file [depth: 1])[Fingerprint Match]’:
/home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/akismet/akismet.phpSo when they did this the Akismet plugin vanished from my website’s admin plugin page.
Consequently I can’t look at the old akismet.php file on the server – cause it’s gone.
Yesterday I downloaded WordPress v. 4.6 and changed my password again. That was the last fix that I know about and the hackers still got into my website this morning.
So, I will take your advice and contact the host to see if they know what might have been ‘malicious’ about the file.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: 40 new blogposts on my site advertising game downloadsHi Mark,
Thanks,
It’s a CPanel host host at NameCheap that CSDi set up itself – no intermediary.
They actually told us about the hack.
OK, I’ll roll up my shirtsleeves and get to work!
Thanks again for your work.
Sincerely,
Tim

In reply to: [Tabby Responsive Tabs] Linking to a page jump or anchor inside of a tabGood morning.
Thank you for your response.
OK, I must be missing something simple.
I followed your code format from your response plus cleaned up any duplicate IDs. The word ‘Enroll’ only exists in the tab.
Beta Test:
If I put this anchor just before the beginning of the main tabbed section:<a id="test1"></a>
[tabby title="Introduction"]
– (this is the very beginning of the tabbed part of the webpage)And I use this link:
<a href="https://nonprofit.csd-i.org/mentored-training-nonprofit-communications/#test1">
I land just before the tabbed section of the webpage as per normal.
However, If I insert that anchor within the tabbed section, and use the link above—I’m taken to the very end of the webpage.
Tabby Test:
If I insert the anchor within a tabbed area:
[tabby title="How to Enroll"]
<a id="test1"></a>
And use the link you suggest:
<a href="https://nonprofit.csd-i.org/mentored-training-nonprofit-communications//?target=how-to-enroll#test1">
Learn more about program fees and the simple enrollment process here:</a>
I’m also taken to the very end of the webpage rather to within the tab ‘How to Enroll’. See here:
https://nonprofit.csd-i.org/mentored-training-nonprofit-communications/I’m assuming in your code snippet that ‘?target=how-to-enroll’ points to the How to Enroll tab?
Any ideas?
Thanks again for your patience!

In reply to: [Tabby Responsive Tabs] Linking to a page jump or anchor inside of a tab`Hmmm. I can’t edit the post above and it resolved into a link. The anchor tag should look like this:
[tabby title=”How to Enroll”]
<a name="how-to-enroll"></a>

Woof!
You nailed it again! Thank you again for your help!

Hi Again,
Over the past few days I learned that if you update to WordPress 4.5 you may really need to update to Make 1.7 also.
Bear in mind that both updates bring a lot of changes – and a few learning curve challenges.
I still have problems with my header – but I now know why – so I will re-post with a clearer question.
