Thanks for you answer. I just found out that the link I gave does not work. I think this one does though “clubwitt.com/blog”. I run the VertrigoServ package under Vista. I have a router/firewall and the server is on the same computer. I found a solution on this “https://www.jestro.com/web-design/convert-local-wordpress-xampp-installation-into-live-site/” site and it works. I don’t know if there is a better way or not.

I changed the URL to my websites URL and it all worked. The draw back is that I can’t update my blog from my local machine since that is where the blog is, and I can’t access it through my external IP.
Thanks for helping out whooami. I changed the URL to “127.0.0.1” in wordpress settings for “wordpress address URL” and now I can’t get back in. That is ok because it is a test blog only but it did not solve the problem though. I have tired earlier to move all the wordpress files from the sub directory /blog to the root directly. That did not help either. What do you think?
