I think the wizard is a good idea. Rather than removing it, I think it might be best that it is optional, not the first option but one that is available. I reckon that people who want it removed say so because:
1. most WordPress advertisers don’t need a wizard
2. This one is a little cunky and does not show all the options
But I still reckon there are other people out there that will need it. Personally, I don’t mind either way, you just have to be mindful that there are different types of users out there. You would know who they are better than me.
As far as the look and feel, I believe that it is secondary to the functionality but might push people away if it is not immediately usable. When there is as much competition as there is on the WordPress plugin space, even though Advanced Ads is one of the 2-3 best one, improving the look and feel is one of those things that gives the product an appearance at least of being looked after, being up-to-date, innovative and competitive.
I am happy to continue to support a product that gets better all the time, keeps an edge and so ask for and listen to feedback.
