In reply to: [TP Image Optimizer] DeadI’ve also had the same ‘cannot connect to the service’ error, despite page refreshing. However, I soldiered on and used the plugin. So far, it’s working as it should and compressing the images. This plugin looks promising already.
If you’re able to fix the service connection issue, I?– and others in the same boat – would be most grateful.

In reply to: Screen Options in Dashboard won’t openHi a2hostingrj,
I’ve already tried those too. Nothing happened.
I feel I’ve run out of options at this point other than back up my files and do a fresh installation, which is a pain in the sphincter.
The recent update also breaks previewing functionality of posts and pages, interferes with the pop-out menus of dashboard items and renders blank screens in the theme customiser – not to mention messing up a few other plugins.
Rolling back to 1.9.7 until this gets sorted.
Additionally, I would strongly suggest to the authors of UpdraftPlus that the Google Drive setup information should be rewritten to stress to other users to use the old console while setting up their Client ID/app so as to avoid the same problems. Also, the screenshots of the ‘new’ Google API console used in the current documentation do not match what Google has now.
I know this thread is from a while back, but I had to post a comment to thank codybriansisco very much for his solution to this problem that’s bugged me for months on end with UpdraftPlus. I searched high, low, far and wide on other threads but with no joy.
After reverting to the old console now, everything’s authenticated.
Thanks once again, codybriansisco.
Hi wpsolutions,
Many thanks for your reply. As per your advice, I redid the configurations, logged in on a new browser and voilà, it’s working.
I suspect my initial problem was to do with a browser-installed password manager plugin interfering with the input fields, though technically it shouldn’t have done given it had no record particularly of the captcha inputs.
Nevertheless, thanks for your assistance in this matter.
