Just checked and you are right. Deactivating does currently trigger the “uninstall” function. I see how that can be unintended and will look into changing it with the next update.

Thanks for the reply Jeremy. Unfortunately CMS Commander would have no way of knowing the Twitter/FB account links and could not set those as a custom field. Would it still be possible to include a certain custom field (which one?) with the remote posts made by CMS Commander that would trigger the publicize feature as OP wants?

since CMS Commander is used to post to user sites remotely via our dashboard other plugins’ custom fields (which the user has installed) would not be created.

Users can however easily create and add custom fields when posting inside CMS Commander. If Jetpack’s Publicize feature requires a certain custom field to trigger it just let me know the name and value. I can then tell OP how to set it up.

Just released an update that fixes the issue with featured image attribution.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will give this some thought but I dont think Pixabay or Flickr offer a way to restrict searches to a specific image orientation.

Pictures from Pixabay are always saved to the server, because they do not allow hotlinking. This setting does only affect Flickr.

This has been fixed now in v1.12!

CMS Commander uses the wp_insert_post() function for creating posts and custom fields are inserted via update_post_meta(). Let me know if there is anything else necessary to make the posting process work with Jetpacks publicize feature.

Hi, unfortunately I dont know about that. Currently the plugin only gets the images in the size you choose from Flickr/Pixabay and leaves any resizing to WordPress.

Flickr has square images in exactly the size you need however so you could think about just using those.

How exactly did PhotoDropper display attribution on these pages? Since the page shows only an excerpt + thumbnail the only way I could think of to do that would be to add the attribution at the very beginning of the post which is also not optimal.

The attribution should be added in that case and it is working fine when I try it myself. What setting for attribution location do you have selected in the Settings?

Wikimedia Commons is on the to do list but unfortunately I am lacking in time right now to work on ImageInject. I hope I can free some early next year…
