did you find a solution? I have the same problem. I think it has to do with the bbp_participant capabilities. But I did not find out which capability is needed, I thougt it should be vote_up_cap.

Hi Frank,

I thougt I had the same problem. But I found out, that if I link to [bbp_profile_link_shortcode] WordPress will add https:// to the beginning, followed by https//, but if I use /[bbp_profile_link_shortcode] everything works as expected.
