Please ensure you’ve assigned your blog to the homepage from Settings -> Reading. Your frontpage should be set to display latest blog posts. The excerpt for the post will be whatever content you added to the post.

If the above still doesn’t work please can you add a link to your site so we can see what’s happening right now.

Can you try checking your background color setting in the customizer. It looks like you might have assigned a background color of white (#ffffff).

To remove this go to the customizer and select Colors then press the Select Color button under Background Color. Now press Clear. Now save the customizer and your site should be full width again.

Add the following css to your site in the theme options under General settings -> Custom css:

#header #header-links {
    display: none;
}
#header-core {
    height: 70px;
}

To add a logo go to the theme options panel in customizer. Then under General Settings you can upload a logo.

Changing the background color of the header is a major customization, as you’ll need to really use a lot of different code so that the text color, borders, dropdown menus all display correctly. IF you’re going to do this then please do so via a child theme to prevent your changes being overwritten in a theme update.

Can you add a link to your site please. It would be good to test any css to be sure it works before providing it. Sometimes plugins can cause styling conflicts, so be good to see if that’s the case here or not.

Metatags can’t be added in Minamaze (free). This is SEO territory, so you’ll need to use a 3rd party plugin to go about controlling the SEO settings on your site.

The easiest way to do this is to disable the pre-made homepage content and instead add a static page to be your sites homepage. You can then add the banner image to that particular page as you would any normal page content.

It sounds like you may have a browser conflict preventing the section from loading correctly. Please try disabling your browser extensions and trying again, alternatively try switching to another browser altogether such as Google Chrome.
