Update: After reading other forums, I downloaded Health Check plug in – I see under Loopback request the following message:

The loopback request to your site failed, this may prevent WP_Cron from working, along with theme and plugin editors.<br>Error encountered: (0) cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10005 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

I think this is causing the editor issue above – how do I fix this?

When I use feed validator (while the “advanced permalinks” plugin is deactivated), I get the following error message, which seems to be related to the “advanced permalinks” feature where i renamed old post URLS to be “pretty permalinks”:

So step 1 provided some insight – an unformatted version of the feed shows when all plugins are active EXCEPT my “advanced permalinks” plugin… when this plugin is deactivated, this is what shows:
