Well it took a week or more for them to get back to me, and they still haven’t explained why my Akismet page lies about false positives, but at least it stopped blocking that commenter. Unfortunately I got zero explanation of what the real problem was or how they fixed it.

Thanks for the reply. I did fill out the Akismet contact form in addition to posting this issue here. So far I haven’t heard anything from them.

You say that Akismet has a built-in whitelist feature, but I don’t see that anywhere in my WordPress administration menus. Where is it?

My Comment Blacklist box is totally blank.

I just discovered the same issue on my site, which is running WordPress 2.3.3. Whooami, you say that this was resolved, but I don’t see any explanations of what can be done to prevent it from happening again? The permissions on my wp-content folder are already set to 755.

So what’s the solution to this?

Have you checked out WP-Admanager? I just found it, so have not tried it out, but it looks like it does some of what you’re looking for.

Okay well if nobody here has an answer, where’s the next place I should look for one?
