In reply to: [Road Fighter] Theme color change not changing?When I first installed the theme for this site, color change worked perfectly and immediately. When I went to a child theme, it no longer functioned.
Following your advice, I disabled all the plugins, including the child theme. It still no longer works. Whatever setting up the child theme did apparently toggled something.
Ideas? Thanks.

In reply to: [Road Fighter] Theme color change not changing?On my second site The Soundsmith I have been developing it without a child theme. The color change worked perfectly.
I have now added One-Click Child Theme and changed to it, and the color option no longer works. Any suggestions? I can disable the child theme (and probably be able to change color) but do not know what to expect, can this mess up my edits?

In reply to: [Road Fighter] Theme color change not changing?I am using the Road Fighter Theme. In my second installation, currently under development, color change works perfectly. (I am not yet using a child theme, wonder if this is relative? I will test it.)

In reply to: Background image only responds to one name4Thanks for the insight, Michael. I can change the image in the Background Image – it just doesn’t show up unless I name it Space2. Firebug shows the line still reads …Space2.gif, not the image I have currently loaded.
I am using the free version of the Theme, the slider is not theoretically active. (displays 1st pic only. I assume.) I have tried several times to email the developer to see if the upgrade is useful to me, and to see if that would resolve the issue, but so far (over a week) I have not received a reply.
How can I access flexslider? I prefer to not edit the php files.

In reply to: Background image only responds to one name4Still stuck on the one name. I can change the image but not the name. It must be named Space2.gif. What can I do to fix this? I am using a child theme, could that be of any significance? Could not find the name in tho child files.

In reply to: Background image only responds to one name4Thanks. I have done so, deleted the cache and the backup cache, still remains. And it has been hours since I changed the GIF and it still displays whatever I name Space2.
I’ll shut it down again and deactivate it, see if that helps this evening. But it seems longer than a cache update would explain. I can change the background on the other pages quickly (Between Space8 and 9, no prob.

In reply to: Video on front page?That’s what it is now – and 3 times the size, even after being optimized (12M otherwise) The GIF is 7M, the video only 2M . The problem is the “Front Page” issue – I can’t find a page to edit and the Custom CSS does not affect it, so none of the video BG plug-ins work.

In reply to: Background image disappearedNever mind, I found a workaround – rename the file I want to the file that the system wants. It took awhile, but got through

In reply to: What Anchor options don't break Responsive Design?Where I am adding this is in the Customize Style Setting window. I did not think I was modifying header.php, though I DO have a mod for the header that I want to address.
I did not make the original changes, I am very new to WP, and a friend added the original changes. I may have broken it adding my changes. Here are the complete current style window changes.
.header_container.not_home { background: #2f2f2f url(https://www.churchofzero.com/wp-content/uploads/Space2.gif); background-size: 100% 100%; background-repeat: no-repeat; } a { color: #783711; text-decoration: none; }
I replaced the anchor tag color: with this:
<style) /* unvisited link */ a:link {color: #d8621f;} /* visited link */ a:visited { color: #783711;} /* mouse over link */ a:hover { color: #ECA379;} /* selected link */ a:active { color: #F5CEB8;}
</style>`
Did I need to specify style.css or css.css? If so, how? I want the changes to apply globally except the main menu.Forum: Fixing WordPress
