mechx1, i have not changed the password,until tonight when I was hacked. fyi, my password has 11 characters, a mix of numbers, caps, and symbols.

I can access MySQL, but I don’t know what to look for or where.

@asilentthing – I don’t know how Matt puts his thumbnail images into the front page, but I do it via the custom fields section.

I have just recently learned (am still learning) how to use these little jewels, but I like what I can do with them.

The custom-fields for feeds plugin is a nice one to work with too.

Also, in my CSS file I have an image code for thumbnails that I often use in my excerpts. So that I don’t have to take the time to edit every single photo into a standard thumbnail size (100×100 or so) I just use a setting like width=% and hieght=auto. Then in my single post page I have the image size more standard.

I also don’t usually link the thumbnail image at all, but occasionally I have linked it. I do this via the Optional Exerpt section. I can see that many possibilities are endless here. For example, if I wanted to write a post about my son’s 4th birthday and only include a three photos I could do that as I normally would (via flickr, or now the Gallery function). If I wanted to link to all the photos, but NOT insert the Gallery into that particular post (to make the birthday gallery it’s own page) I could then write a page (so the post won’t appear on the front page of the blog as the top post) and insert all my photos there and make that a birthday gallery page and link to it from the birthday post.

That may not be the cleanest way to do it, but I do not see why it wouldn’t work.

Well, I finally got it fixed, thanks for the links. I finally found a site that helped. the majority of the problem was related to float and position.

just putting this back up to the top – I still need help with this.

I figure this is a problem with a div tag or maybe even a paginate problem because now I can’t see that anymore.

As per the pic, I just haven’t gotten to that yet – this is my test blog and my priority is to get the containment of my posts right first.

After reading this I deactiveted my sidblog plugin and no longer have double posts. curious. do you know of any fixes for this – I really want my d=sideblog plugin to work?

fyi, I had these running fine before the upgrade.

I’ve read these; they do not answer my questions. My old blog was wordpress hosted privately. I moved and didn’t take the old databse with me. I want to import my old database at my new location (still wordpress). I follow the steps for myphpadmin, but stall when I get to the SQL step because there is no Browse button (per instructions) to choose the file I need to restore. What do I do. Do I import the file via phpMYadmin? Do I use FTP? Where do I put the file? Do I leave it zipped or unzip it? So on and so forth like that. I don’t want to mess anything up as this is all Greek to me and I wouldn’t know how to fix it if I messed up with and SQL database or any myphpadmin info.

Only what’s in bold? If so – done. I the rest as well, not yet done.

But I want my whole header to be link. So how would I do this another way?
