I should have mentioned that I can get the PREVIOUS and NEXT links to show up, but the same 8 posts appear when I click on them.

Yeah, I think I want too many custom things to do it inside of WordPress, but there’s no reason I couldn’t run my store off a subdomain and use different software.

You’re absolutely right about the ads. Thanks. The ads do cover the cost of the site and it’s part of some community of bloggers my girlfriend belongs to, so I’d rather not delete them. Is there any way to force the ads in a widget to load last?

Okay, in case anyone is trying to put monotone into a subdirectory like I was with its own WP install, monotone is still looking for thumb.php and the cache folder in the root of the server, not in the subdirectory. I also just wrote the .htaccess lines into the .htaccess in the root of my directory. It seems to work now. I’m just trying to figure out resizing now to larger images.

I noticed something else. Whenever I try to edit the permalinks structure, I get 500 errors. I just deleted the .htaccess file and the image appears now, but the borders don’t resize to fit the image.

Putting the .htaccess file back causes the image not to show up in the post.

Yeah, I probably should have tested the permalink thing myself. It works like a charm. My friend was a little worried about the importing and since I’ve never done it, I was just looking for people with experience to chime in on it. Thanks a lot.

I think he is thinking about a WYSIWYG editor locally on the computer that will push text, formatting, and images to WordPress. I believe there are programs like this, but I have had little luck with them.
