In reply to: [Hide Category by User Role for WooCommerce] Missing translatable stringsHi Ignacio,
We assume you are referring to the fact that when using WordPress in other languages, our plugin is not fully translated. This is true—only the WordPress-specific strings are currently translated, which can be confusing. Adding translations for the most common languages would be beneficial.
We are going to start working on translations for the following languages:
- Spanish
- French
- Portuguese
- German
This feature will be released in the next update.

First Steps:
- Update Everything: Please ensure that WordPress, all plugins, and your theme are updated to their latest versions.
- Check for Conflicts: If the error persists, try deactivating other plugins one by one to identify any potential conflicts.
Next: If the problem continues after these steps, please provide us with the following:
- Screenshots: Share screenshots of the configuration settings for our plugin.
- Category Hierarchy: Include a visual representation of the category hierarchy you’ve set up in WooCommerce.

In reply to: [Hide Category by User Role for WooCommerce] Getting an error from pluginWe’re sorry about that, but this is the normal process to troubleshoot a problem in order to identify the bug. Otherwise, we have no way of knowing what could be the cause.

In reply to: [Hide Category by User Role for WooCommerce] Getting an error from pluginSince the issues persist, it could be due to a conflict with the theme or another active plugin. To troubleshoot, we suggest first switching to a different theme. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, try deactivating each plugin one by one and then reactivating them to pinpoint the source of the conflict.
It would also be helpful to know which theme you are using so we can test it on our end and see if any adjustments are needed.

Thank you very much for your kind words about our plugin! We’re glad to hear that it’s working well with WC roles and custom roles.
Regarding the issue with WooCommerce related products displaying items from the hidden categories, we suggest the following steps:
- Update Your Site: Please ensure that your WordPress, theme, and all plugins are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes, updates can resolve unexpected behavior and compatibility issues.
- Provide Additional Information: If the problem persists after updating, could you please let us know which specific WooCommerce related products plugin or widget you are using? Additionally, sharing the URL where the issue occurs and the steps to replicate the error would be very helpful for us to understand the problem better.
In regards to the option that exclude a category for non-connected users, our plugin allows you to exclude categories for guests, who are considered the same as non-connected users. This feature might help you achieve the desired functionality.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help!
Can you please share some screenshots of your issue to [email protected]
We have reviewed our plugin on your site, and everything seems to be working as expected. For example, when a child category is hidden, both its parent category and other categories are visible in the sidebar.
Similarly, when you hide a parent category, both the parent and its child categories are hidden, while the other categories in the sidebar menu remain visible and functional.
Also, we highly recommend you don’t post login credentials on this public support forum. If you can, please remove the login credentials in your previous post or delete the user.
Having access to the backend would help us understand the issue better. However, while we’re happy to take a look, this will be a superficial review to see if it’s our plugin causing the issue, or some other cause. We unfortunately don’t offer free support for a free plugin.
The behavior you describe is indeed unusual. To better understand and replicate the issue in our testing environment, we need some additional information:
- The version of WooCommerce you are using,
- The theme you are using,
- Screenshots of the configuration for both our plugin and the widget menu displayed in the sidebar,
- Screenshots of all other elements involved.
These details will help us diagnose the problem more effectively. Thank you!
Hi pozoalcon,
According to what is shown in the image, it appears that all the subcategories under “Alimentacion” may have been hidden, which is why they are not displayed in the sidebar menu.
Since each site is different, it is challenging to determine the exact issue in this specific case. We recommend that you experiment with hiding each category individually until you find the optimal configuration.
