Hello, thank you again for your reply! I am accepting the revision from within the post itself (the post editor), not from the list of posts.

Could you try accepting the post from posts list and tell me if the issue still occurs? It will really help me debug your case.

There should be setting called:

Merging > Merge date with revision
– No, keep original post’s date
– Yes, after revision acceptance, replace date

Is this option not visible for you?

One more question.
Are you accepting revision from posts list or in any other way?

but now I’m noticing that approving changes on a revision draft clears ALL revision history for that post??

That’s something new. Maybe new updates of WordPress changed way of connecting revisions meta-keys with their parent.

Unfortunatelly we are still waiting for Gutenberg team to allow more flexible modifications of content data display.

We understand your frustration. It is indeed on our roadmap, aswell other changes.

Our plugin provides mechanisms for administrators and author to be able to collaborate with each other work. It assumes you are working on the same dashboard.

1) Post author have to be a registered user with lower admi ncredentials.
2) Admin can create accounts. It’s a part of WordPress.
3) You may send them manually created url’s to the post edit page.
4) We recommend plugin called “user roles editor”.
5) This functionality is far from being a part of this plugin but we are sure there are some “ready to use” solutions like “user activity log” etc.

Our plugi works “vanilla-way”. If any other software modifies the default way of processing data, it may not work properly. We will dig into this topic further.
