In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedOkay. That’s what happened–moved my site, with additional permalink issues. This really helped. Thanks again!

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedTYVM, bhpress! This worked. I changed both the folder and image permissions. I know how to fix them if this happens again, but my question is, will it? Did I do something wrong that caused the permission numbers to change? Just wondering. But thanks for helping.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedKrishna, what does “403 Permission Denied” mean exactly and how do I fix that? How do I even check for that because I didn’t see that error message. Should I try to resolve this with BlueHost?

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedWell, I use the visual editor to edit and post. But I just looked at the page in HTML and the code for the two images reads:
<a href="https://peterkobel.com/the-buzz-on-elephants/lucy-king/" rel="attachment wp-att-328"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-328" title="Lucy King" src="https://peterkobel.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Lucy-King.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="151" /></a>
and
<a href="https://peterkobel.com/the-buzz-on-elephants/180px-elephant_near_ndutu/" rel="attachment wp-att-329"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-329" title="180px-Elephant_near_ndutu" src="https://peterkobel.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/180px-Elephant_near_ndutu.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="240" /></a>

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedHey Krishna. Here’s a test I did with an old blog post I wrote. Uploaded the images from my desktop.
https://peterkobel.com/the-buzz-on-elephants/
The images are in my media library sans icons.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedSure. It’s peterkobel.com. The new page on which I can’t insert newly uploaded images is peterkobel.com/green-roofs-green-cities/.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedYes, Esmi, I have taken your missives about creating children to heart and worried about cutting mine loose. Thanks. Philophotog, I never used Google libraries. All my plug-ins are deactivated. I should be able to insert images without any plug-ins, anyway. Nothing, so far, seems to work.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedKrishna, I’ve disabled the few plugins I had, and nothing changed. I should reactivate them? Also, do I risk losing stuff if I reactivate the Twenty Eleven theme, thus deactivating my child theme?
If the photo icons don’t reappear in my media library and/or gallery, do I then try to upload the same images again?
And, finally, whether this works or not, I do want to go back to my child theme, right? Such stupid questions, so little time.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedHmm. The permalinks thing didn’t work. All of the images uploaded pre-upgrade are in my media library with visual icons and usable on any new page. All of the images that I’ve uploaded post-upgrade appear in the media library with names only–no visual icon. I can’t insert them into any page. In fact, I can’t insert images from anywhere — my computer or library or by URL.

In reply to: Can't upload images revisitedKrishna, thanks. But I’m not quite sure what you mean. My permalinks are set to post name. Are you suggesting setting them to default or something else?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: URL issueI did go in and change some permalinks. Thanks. They were screwed up in myriad ways — I still can’t really figure out how or why. But I’m slowly getting it back together. Thanks again!

In reply to: URL issueThanks much for your response. I did check wp_options, and both siteurl and home read https://peterkobel.com. So I still can’t figure out the weird repetition of the domain name.

In reply to: How to move taglineThanks so much. Works wonderfully. I pushed it a bit away from the right margin to make it more symmetrical with the left margin. With help from people like you, I am finally getting this. There’s a learning curve, but it is incredibly satisfying when you begin to get it. Thanks again.

In reply to: How to move taglineThanks, vtxyzzy. It does move the site description flush right, but it stays on a separate line. I’d like for the site title and site description to be on the same line, as in the default Twenty Eleven parent. I don’t know why the site description went down to a separate line and became flush left, cause when I preview the 2011 parent, it looks the way I want it to be. Cheers.
Thanks!
