I don’t know if something was changed, but this is FINALLY working for me! I’m currently test driving a different theme – is it possible that’s what causing it to finally work correctly?
Regardless of why, I am so happy this is functioning now!
At least you have that much of an option. All I’ve ever gotten to load is a blank gray box where the full image should be.
I haven’t had any problems putting an external link in a photo’s description/caption using html.
Hi there,
Do you mean that you want to have all of your galleries shown on one page? I haven’t had any trouble putting multiple galleries onto one page (example: https://www.thedrewseum.com/8x10film/) by simply coding them in like this:
miscellaneous TV programs
[nggallery id=126]Suddenly, Love
[nggallery id=134]E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
[nggallery id=120]Saturday Night Live
[nggallery id=135]etc etc
Yes, just like how you mentioned in your original post.
Just did the NextGen upgrade & the glitch came back. I had to go into the shutter-reloaded.js file and once again remove that line. Works perfectly now though.
For quick reference, that file is in wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/shutter/
HALLELUJAH! It worked! I’m so grateful for this fix, thanks to everyone who got it working!
can u tell me the exact size of your photos, so i can test it?
Jimmy, my thumbs are 80×100. The photos themselves are a variety of sizes.
Interesting, I have a photo with a link in the description. I just used normal html & it works fine. I do wish I knew how to customize the font that the link turns into, it doesn’t fit with the other text at all.
Glad you were able to make it work! Very odd that you were having that problem to begin with!
Unfortunately this fix didn’t work for me :/ Photos with a size ratio that is slightly ‘off’ still generate smaller thumbnails. Hopefully this will be fixed soon, it’s the only problem I have with this amazing gallery plug-in.
I’d love to see the “customize thumbnail” option fixed!
Also, I have over 600 galleries currently. I’d love to be able to search gallery titles instead of just images.
This has been an annoyance for me as well. Where does this patch need to be installed?
My entire site is practically made up of pages which each contain several galleries. I’m not sure why you’re having trouble. Here’s a good example, this page has over 30 galleries on it!

All we did was put in the coding like described above ([nggallery id=1], [nggallery id=2], etc)
Same problem here, so I’ve been having to redo a lot of thumbs by hand. Such a pain. I’ve been searching for a solution for weeks, but nothing seems to work :/
