I copied and pasted that code into “edit CSS” (am using Twenty Eleven) and it has removed the date and author on posts, but at the top of each post it still says “Posted on”. How can I get rid of this?

Thank you very much – I have disabled JetPack and now it seems to work. All I need to do now is work out how to use JetPack without it screwing up my comment posting! Shame because I really like JetPack ??

I wasn’t aware of the potential problems that having NS3 configured could cause. I have deleted the setting – now it’s only NS1 and NS2. The NS3 has been left blank.

I have actually managed to fix the problem since I posted this, after several long conversations with Bluehost technicians.

Yes, I’ve already looked at that, thanks, but it didn’t answer the question at all. Luckily I have since managed to speak to a technician at Bluehost who helped me to resolve the issue.

Hi Jan – I downloaded that file – luckily I can drag and drop these files straight into the server (or import them from my desktop via the wordpress dashboard).

Unfortunately it didn’t work this time. I activated it with no problems but it didn’t change the other list – it’s actually the list on the right-hand side of https://johnbentleyswriting.com, the one entitled “recent posts”, that I want to reverse this time. At the moment it starts at “Entry 12” & I need it to start at “entry 1”. The main text in the middle of the screen is fine now, it’s just that list on the right that’s wrong.

Any ideas? Or did I do something wrong?

Jan, don’t worry about my last question – I think I’ve worked it out – I created a new php file in the wordpress folder & have activated it and now I have all my posts in reverse order.

Could I just ask you one more thing?

On my blog https://johnbentleyswriting.com the posts are now in chronological order, but on the right-hand sidebar, which lists “recent posts”, they are still in order of the most recent first.

Is there any way I can reverse this list’s order too?

OK thanks for that… erm… I’m something of a novice with all this… how exactly do a “create a new plug-in file”? Do I have to create a new file in the folder where all the WordPress stuff is (in my case it’s pre-installed on the server) or do I have to do this via the WordPress dashboard? And all that code… can I just copy & paste it?

Hi everyone

I have another question – I’m trying to set up RSS feeds on my blog, so that people can subscribe to automatically receive notification of any new posts I make. I’ve dragged the RSS widget to the right, but when I tested it by clicking on the blog’s “RSS-Posts” links, just to test it worked, I got the message

“This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.”

Plus a page of HTML.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a fault?

OK… And when I reach that stage, can I transfer everything I’ve already written to the new host?
