Yep, having the exact same issue.

I don’t know when it started, but I noticed it today. I’m getting the same error banner on top of the XML Sitemap Settings page, and Search Enginges are NOT blocked and never been blocked on the Reading Settings page.

I event tried ticking blocking, then save, then untick and save, but the error message is still there.

Can we please get a fix for this? Or let us know how to fix it ourselves?

I have the same question as well. I appreciate that it’s available again, but who is going to maintain this plugin? I wonder if @webvitalii would be willing to take up maintenance again. He did such a great job and was very responsive.

@nastia, what is a good setting for the Target Resource Usage? I left it at the default, which shows as 25%. Is that a good setting? Or should it be lowered?

Hello, I’m the OP who posted this question. We still have issues with spam coming through in the past couple of weeks. There is nothing in the plugin’s error logs. These are not registered users (we do not have registered users, only normal commenters).

Even though I would love to support Link Monitor and the folks behind it, one thing I don’t like about it is that it’s limited to 10k links. I’m just an ordinary blogger, but I already have over 25k links on just one website. The free Broken Link Checker doesn’t have any issues with monitoring them all.

Thanks for clarifying @wpmudev-support1, I love to plugin I’m super happy that you guys took over and I don’t have to delete it. And yes, it would be great if there is an undo option, or a pop-up, or a tab under which any unlinked links would go, so they can be easily edited later. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, restoring the site would mean that all the other links that I successfully changed on that day will be restored to an earlier version as well (one of our affiliates changed their links, so there was lots to update). Plus, this is a busy site with new posts and comments, which would all be lost.

There really should be a warning before the UNLINK button would execute as it seems that its a nuclear option that cannot be easily undone. Like a big “Are you sure?” window popping up, or something like that. The UNLINK button is right next to the other buttons and it’s easy to hit it by accident.

Did you find a solution to this? I’m also interested to know how to set this up.

Samuel, thanks for the quick response. I will wait a few more days to see if the attacks diminish, and if not, I will ask my server’s tech support for help. I was just hoping this plugin will discourage them and these nasty bots will go away. Thanks for the suggestions.

I only use the anti-spam plugin as well. Akismet took up tremendous resources and also bloated my database. I used to get hundreds of spam comments a day. Since I have been using the anti-spam plugin only I have not had any spam. I only use this one plugin for spam. It is awesome! ??

@webvitaly, I wish every plugin creator would have this same attitude. Keep up the awesome work! ??
