In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] CSS LocationsThank you, Alchymyth. Though I am trying to find where, exactly, the code would be embedded at? I have not tried the !important yet, I’d prefer to simply edit it at its source. I have looked through the header.php file to no avail, I’m not sure where else to work as I was under the impression that is the only location for the
Head
. Using the Twenty Eleven default theme, could you expand on that a bit more, please?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] CSS LocationsThat site I linked is not the one I’m working on. I’m working on a different site.
You have the content, that is the area in the center by default on a clean install. That is where all of your blogging, pages, the header, etc. goes. This area is apparently controlled by the Body tag.
Then you have the site background which is what is BEHIND all of that. On the site I linked, it is the giant space-themed image. It is what is behind everything that I am trying to edit. It is also what is normally changed using the Appearance > Background in the admin panel. That menu in the admin panel is too simplistic to do what I am trying to do. So I am trying to find out what tag needs to be edited to change the background area. If it is the Page, I’ve tried changing things in there and nothing happens.

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] CSS LocationsThat did not work, the problem I’m encountering is the fact that the Body tag controls the content background itself in Twenty Eleven, not the actual site background.

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] CSS LocationsI’ve changed it to a child theme before ?? As for what I’m trying to edit, I have an example from my main website: https://www.zimsgizmos.biz/ I am referring to the image in the background of the planet view. That site uses the Twenty Ten theme but that is the image I’m attempting to edit on the other site (well, one similar). The image I am using is 700×1200, I want it to scale based on the window (using percentages, I’ve done this before) but I also want to make the solid color background that I’m limited to using the Appearance > Background menu be a gradient going from a crimson red at the top to a dark dark gray at the bottom. I know all the code to put in. I just need to find where I’m supposed to put it in at.

In reply to: [Theme: Twenty Eleven] CSS LocationsI am currently working in an offline environment to create this theme. So no, I do not have a link to the site. I know where the CSS stylesheets are. I will be making it into a child theme after I finish the designing phase.
I found the header image information, but I have searched and searched and can not find where I can edit the background itself, not the background behind the content, the actual site background.
