Hi, there.
I did as you said and looked for the newsletter page under pages. Nothing.
Then I checked under settings general: Nothing.
The rest of the instructions would be beyond me to make my own custom page.Because I don’t know the short code and how to set up the page correctly to make things work properly.
So I deleted the plugin and then re-installed it, hoping the default newsletter page would be re-installed: Nothing there under settings/general. Only my own menu pages!
I must be very doff, but how do I get the default page to appear listed with the other pages of mine?
My website is: https://www.adafagan.co.za I’m the only one who runs my website! I don’t have a designer. Thanks for trying to help me.
I went to my home page and filled in the subscription form as if I was a visitor to my site.
This action sent me to a page which said: “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it!”
What should have happened? What would my potential subscribers see or do after completing that subscription form?
To fix the problem, what must I do to correct things?
Grateful for your input.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: JetPack by WordPress crashed my site! Thanks for taking the time to help me.
I have clicked on the link you have given me and copied my message over to that page & re-done it. But it looks the same page to me! Hope I haven’t duplicated my request.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [ALO EasyMail Newsletter] ALO EasyMail NewsletterHi eventualo,
Thanks for trying to help me.
As to number one questions answer: How does your link actually help dividing subscribers into smaller lists?
2nd question answer: I went to newsletters setting and adjusted it from “no” to “Send all emails to author”. What does that mean? Do my subscribers still get my emailed newsletters or only me?
3rd question answer: I already have social plugins that send my posts to social media sites! Ok, so I understand that I have to post my newsletters manually myself to social media sites.
I’m with South Africa’s Lantic ISP. New operators come and go there, so they’re not always clued up with php or smpt problems!By giving you my webhost, they maybe annoyed with me. They didn’t seemed too pleased when I had approached them about updating my PHP. They said everyone is on the lower version because most people aren’t so technically advanced.
They are: Atlantic Internet Services: website: https://www.lantic.net
For technical help: [email protected]
Now I have added problems by having tried to get breadcrumbs and then deleting plugins: google said they couldn’t googlebot my website. So I changed the robots.txt in settings/reading to accommodate google and did fetch, but now they say they still can’t googlebot my site!
I’m not good at IT but enjoy learning new things, sharing and helping others on the internet. My webhost said they don’t want to upgrade their PHP because it will upset all their other clients. They will only upgrade when there is enough requests to upgrade.
Thanks for your prompt response. I’ll get hold of my ISP and ask them to update their PHP. Thanks again, much appreciative.
Installed Breadcrumb NavXT 5.2.2 and was told I needed to upgrade my PHP (as the thread enquiries are based on)
So I tried to delete the plugin. But I can’t delete it!! I get a blank white page. I can only deactivate the plugin!
I’ve resorted to installing Breadcrumb Trail instead and hope that works successfully.
Now how do I delete Breadcrumb NavXT 5.2.2 plugin please, without getting a white page?
My website is https://www.adafagan.co.zaWhy should WordFence be the only plugin that won’t update from dashboard? Why do we have to continue using the FTP every time now?
As to `disk space allocation with host’ -which host? WordPress or ISP? What old files? Other plugins? What?
My website is: https://www.adafagan.co.zaStill can’t update latest WordFence verion.
Added to that MailPoet plugin can’t sent out newsletters to subscribers and can’t send out test emails to me either (even from “Lost your password” at login). Says they are sent but they haven’t reached the people concerned.
Why am I blocked out from using WordFence effectively?
How can I rectify these problems? What settings (options) can I change or tick operational, that will put things right?
Please: Need answers quickly.
My website address again is: https://www.adafagan.co.zaYou know what, I’ve come to the same conclusion as you, James and Catacaustic.
Instead of faffing about it all, I downloaded the plugin ‘MailPoet’ and left it as that. Very simple plugin that sends out your newsletters for you.
Thanks folks for kindly responding to my request. You are the greatest. Thanks for responding to my quest James.
What do you think is a sure sign of a false follower email? I thought perhaps its a name with mostly numbers and not a proper recognized name.
Anyway what I tried to do, to filter emails, was to copy their name and paste in in search (Microsoft 8.01). This bought up some internet sites that contained their name or something similar. This helped about one percent of the time, but with this method, you can’t be positive its the same person who sent you the email.
Yes, I also wondered why register as a follower, in the first place, if the spammers only received notification of your new blogs!Had the problem of updating for about 3 months, and was getting desperate. So you can see appreciative I am of your help and advice.
All is well, thank you.
Went back to my ISP and another chap helped me upload the Wordfence plugin. I then went back to my WordPress admin and re-installed and activated it.
Thank you for your advice.Hi, thanks for responding so quickly.
My ftp permissions are: directories 755, files 644.
My ISP said the plugin problem is not their problem!
What exactly do you mean by ‘lack of space issue’?
