In reply to: [Sydney] Google Ranking CLSHello Kharis,
I found out that it’s only on the main page with the slider. I want to keep the slider but 1. I have deactivated changing pictures (time = 0) and 2. I noticed that the text is “flying” into position. I guess thats one reason the bad CLS.. As I said all other sub-sides work perfectly. Only the Start-page with the slider is like that…

In reply to: [Sydney] Google Ranking CLSHello Kharis,
thanks for your reply!
I tested it without plugins and it remains the same. As I said, it mainly occurs on the main-page with the Slider but slider-activity -0 so it just shows the “rich-style-picture” and the text.Also the same on other pages I tested. The score on the other subfolders do look good but only the main starting page with the slider is ranked badly. Though changing it to “picture” is no option because I want it to take the full monitor and I love the look of sydneys headerslider with the fonts above.
Sure we’ll fix that!
Have a great day

In reply to: [Sydney] Google Ranking CLSSo I analyzed some of the pages from this support-forum and found out the following:
the bad CLS only occurs on the start-page with the big slider. BUT even if the slider only shows 1 picture with a time of “0” (no movement).
All other pages like /products etc. have a good CLS value.I’m sure we’ll find a solution and make Sydney even better!! Have a nice easter

In reply to: [Sydney] Error fonts.googleHello ?? Is there already a solution? Best regards ??

In reply to: [Sydney] Error fonts.googleFor testing purposes I now installed a CLEAN new WordPress on test-environment locally on XAMPP, using PHP 7.4 and WP 5.7
Without plugins or any mods.
With the twentyone theme in the customizer there’s no error shown.
But with a clean new downloaded Sydney theme in the customizer it shows again GET https://fonts.googleapis.com/ net::ERR_ABORTED 404.But remind: It doesn’t show any errors or bugs in the wordpress-backend, ONLY in the Google Chrome-Developer console when you right click on the page for more details and swich to “console”.
I also turned off all browser-extensions for testing but still get that error in the google-console
Best regards.

In reply to: [Sydney] Error fonts.googleHello Kharis,
it’s using the google Font railway, I guess it was enabled with sydney by default because I can’t recall to ever have set a font ??
I don’t think that it’s in connection with https because it occurs on my online-installation with https and also on a local installation without https..What can I check next?
As I said, the error only appears in the “customizer”Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Sydney] Email a href footerHi Kharis,
I now found a way to block that sector from being crawled by the translation-plugin ?? so now it’s all fine!
Thank you for your effort!I’d also love Feature #1!!

In reply to: [Translate Multilingual sites - TranslatePress] Database sizeNow I found out that it fetches the a href mailto like (a href=”mailto:”mailto:info@…..) in many different ways of writing (maybe called Hexadecimal?).
So this writing is dynamic by the theme, but is there a possibility to exclude this string from Translatepress? Translatepress fetches the “new-strings” and doesn’t delete the old ones…
I know in advanced there is the possibility to “exclude strings” but there are many options and neither I know what I have to post inside to not touch any “mailto” strings

In reply to: [Gwolle Guestbook] Guestbook translationHello Mr Pol,
with browser running 100% do you mean that it consumes large amount of resources?I looked in the developers-console on chrome and can’t find anything.
What makes this little problem very very interesting is the fact, that it runs normally on XAMPP (local). When I use a backup of my site and load it locally on Xampp, it’s showed correctly. That’s what makes me wonder why that might occur or if it’s just a server-sided issue.
I checked it with Query Monitor (but I’m not experienced with it) but neither found something like an error message…
Best regards!

In reply to: [Sydney] Top Menu GlitchyMe helped the following CSS.
But it’s nothing for the long run because CSS slows my site/*Sydney*/
#mainnav .sub-menu {
left: 0 !important;
}
#mainnav .sub-menu .sub-menu {
left: 100% !important;
}Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Sydney] Menu Not Working After Upgrade to 1.75same Problem here, I used the CSS, now it’s back to normal.
But will there be an update to do the right alignment without the css needed?

In reply to: [Translate Multilingual sites - TranslatePress] Growing DatabaseHello Christian,
thank you for your info!Should I run all 3 of those options or just one specific?
Remove duplicate dictionary rows
Remove duplicate gettext rows
Remove duplicate original stringsBest regards

In reply to: [Translate Multilingual sites - TranslatePress] Growing DatabaseNow I checked the trp_dictionary_de_de_en_us and found some things out:
-1. there are many many entries in the “original” row that aren’t translated – for example guest book entries that I haven’t and won’t translate.
-2. that there are also older strings from former “crawlings by Translatepress” that don’t exist anymore.
So my question:
Is there a good and reliable solution to change that without destroying the whole database?
Or is it necessary that translatepress gathers all strings on a page.
And what can I do with the renewed entries, that I have updated but both versions (the old and the new) still lay in the Database?Best regards and thank you very much in advance!
