Cosmica – are you able to preview your pages? Do you get the ‘fail to update’ message when the block editor is in play?

The only page that is available for preview is my home page -but I can’t edit it, it ‘fails to update’ and it’s in the new wordpress Block style. https://ninthhousedesigns.com/

HI Jeff! I went to Cpanel and searched for a debug log or errors and couldn’t find any logs of this sort. I’m fairly beginnerish when it comes to wordpress – although I have two websites I’ve been working on for a few years and it’s been relatively smooth.

I just did a bit more experimenting and found that I could create a new Page and preview it with no problem (in classic editor) but as soon as I published it, I got 404 error when I hit preview…and it also gets the 404 error when I put the clean url into the browser.

I’ve updated the .htaccess a million times, hit save on the permalinks the same amount of time, made sure the site addresses were the same, removed an url under the Writing section….I don’t have a clue what’s happening unfortunately ??

I installed Disable Gutenberg a couple of hours ago and some of my pages still go to the new Block style editor AND these pages won’t update (Fail to update) AND I can’t preview any of my new pages (404 error) ?? I don’t know what’s wrong. Been searching for solutions and am now about to pull my hair out.

So, on THIS page, I have an AD-less sidebar and I pasted: [quads id=”1″] into the body of the post just above “It’s a very simple intention exercise…”

Then, further down, I pasted the full AdSense code directly into the TEXT editor. On my edit page I can see blue bars. At the actual url you can see white space where the ad would go.

The [quads id=”1″] thing doesn’t add any white space for the ad – it’s like it’s not even there.

ODDLY I could get only ONE adsense Ad to show up in the body of THIS post: https://www.lightcenterlove.com/free-mayan-astrology-readings/ by inserting the large/full code directly into the Text Editor. But the other two spots I tried wouldn’t take ?? So I have two more ads on the sidebar to make 3 for the page.

I would reeeeeeally love to figure this out as I am getting many hits but no clicks! Thank you!

Even if I go in and remove my shortcode line and just put:

[quads id=”1″]

all by itself on a line – nothing happens.

I have no sidebar on my homepage and I’ve put up sidebars with NO google ads in them on other pages that I am trying to add ads to the body of the post.

Google ads are appearing just fine in all my sidebars WITH google ads, though, so I know google is working with me.

Hmmm…what on earth could it be??

I can see the shortcode in the text editor, yes:

<h1 style=”text-align: center;”>?[quads id=”2″] </h1>

I checked the load priority. It was at 20 so I changed it to 10.

What do you think is going on here? Hmmm

NOW it’s there! That’s weird. It disappeared for a few hours (at least) and now it’s back. Sigh. It did that last week, too. Strange – but at least it’s back!

Hmmmm thanks for the update. My site hasn’t crashed so I’m going to assume it’s a different problem….? ?? hopefully!

I have the same problem. I have Jetpack AND Google XML Sitemaps (are they interfering with each other?) and my sitemap has disappeared. I DID see it before but now it’s just gone: https://www.lightcenterlove.com/sitemap.xml

I submitted my sitemap to Google through their console and it’s been Pending for 24 hours. I thought to check the sitemap itself and….nada. Not there.

Can anyone help?

Rene – I looked at that page again.

First, I pasted the shortcode for the banner ads into a page that has a LOT of content and the same thing: nothing shows up. There isn’t even extra white space on either page where you’d think the ad should be since I made room for it.

Soooo I did what that link said and I did what you asked.

Under ADSENSE Code for Ad 1: I put just: “AD1” – exactly like that. (that’s really it??) I saved it.

Nothing comes up on my homepage where that Ad 1 should be (I used the short code: [quads id=”1″]

So, now what?

Ooooh it could be because my homepage is filled with images and not many words. What do you think?

Because I’m assuming google adsense is working since I have their ads in widgets all over the sidebars and footers of my site – they are working.

The code I am entering in the body of my frontpage looks like this:

[quads id=”3″]

Those words aren’t showing up on my homepage, which is good – but there are NO ads ??

Is there any help out there, please?
