I agree that it seems like a permission problem. GoDaddy is easy for people doing typical Hosting, I’ve learned. They’ll do it for you. But I can’t go that route, as I have a virtual server, so it requires a manual install.

You say it’s hard to help without seeing what I’ve done. What information can I give you? Yes, it’s installed in the public_html folder. And I can access the WordPress Login page. It is simply blocked once I log-in. The install is there, I went through that procedure. I agree w/ the permissions seeming a culprit, but I’m not sure how. I created the username during the WP install on the web front page. If I put in the wrong username of PW, I actually get the Error page from WP. It’s only the weird page when I do a successful login.

In terms of “seeing what I’ve done” what can I show you? I can give you a breakdown of my setup, if you like.

Nothing? Damnit, guys. I’ve installed it twice, what could be messing up to cause this? A permission issue in my DB? Like the User_Activation_Key field or the User_Status fields being empty/null?

I’m not sure how I could have installed it incorrectly. It’s an automated install, which I ran after putting the appropriately unzipped files on the FTP site, and running from the the URL. It said it was a successful install, so if something went wrong, I’m not sure how or where.

Additionally, I assume the database user has all of the correct privileges. I created the user during the install, and it SEEMS to log in, just give me the error. If I use a wrong username or password, it definitely rejects me and says incorrect username or password. So it recognizes my username and password from the installation. It just takes me to some weird place that ISN’T a Dashboard.

What other privileges would I be checking on?
