For me The star rating is from 1 to x (1 being the worst rating)
I would see a system like:
– If 0 then Required,
– If more than 0 then ok
– Finally, if the default value is set (and it is > 0) and the vote is changed, in all cases the value 0 can not be entered so there is no worry.

I can not see if this works because it is sending the form that tells me if the fields are not filled, and on your example there is no button “Send”

The test I did at home:
1 / I enter a wrong email address to force an error,
2 / I answer “No” to question 1 – then I have the conditional field “Why” which opens -> is correct (I do not respond intentionally to fill this field which is mandatory)
3 / Then I answer the other questions by forcing some conditional fields (and I filled in all the answers requested).

4 / I send the form (the first conditional field of question 1 is therefore always empty and there is an error on the mail address)

-> I have a message telling me that there are errors. (Normal)
A / the e-mail address is with the message in red “The e-mail address is invalid” .–> ok
B / Conditional field 1 does not appear as an error. However, it is not filled

C / I correct the e-mail address
D / I send the form and it sends well (It does not ask me to fill the conditional field 1 and it does not detect an error)
