I appreciate you taking the time to point me to what I should have done 2 weeks ago when I decided to move my blog in a spur of the moment decision because I got seriously fed up with my old web host.

At that time, I had maybe 12 photos and about 20 blog posts on my site. I know that I should have run a search and replace blahblah in the database but going manually through all the posts after the migration took me less than 15 minutes whereas familiarising myself how to work the phpMyAdmin thingy would have taken much longer.

The links you gave me may come in handy in the future for the next site migration when I’m running a large web site with all the bells and whistles ??

Anyways, problem now sorted as stated above.

I cloned my WP site to a “test” subdomain, then uninstalled and re-installed WP from scratch.

Am now rebuilding the blog by cutting pasting text from the subdomain to main site.

Had to re-upload all images to the media library, and it’s working like a charm now. But rebuilding the whole blog means I have quite some work ahead of me. Thank god it’s Sunday …

Hi Lyle, thanks for responding.

Yes, the URL changed. But that, of course, isn’t the issue I’m having with the site.

After sending my post (which I’m aware may have landed in the wrong forum category!), I started to ponder if it was an issue with 4.0 after all.

I said I had upgraded to 4.0 while the site was still at the old web host but I didn’t create any new posts until I moved the site to the new web host. Perhaps if I had, I’d noticed the issue with the non-appearing images sooner!?
