Hi Jayce, we are all having the same issue after upgrading WP. Can you please tell us if you are working on a fix for this please.

Alchymyth: I installed jetpack as you suggested but as you probably know it will not allow me to make a consistently sized grid that I need and I couldn’t figure out any way around that. But it does do pretty much what I wanted in terms of showing the caption in a nice way.

To you both:
I think I have made a little more progress. I have my caption showing within the image on hover. if you go to here and you hover on the first image of the cheeseburger you will see. There are a couple of tweaks I would like to make if you could point me in the right direction. One, a fade in would be nice. I saw the fade in in the jq effects but did not know where it went in the jq. Second, the caption and gray background is on top of the image link and I need it to be clickable so that the person doesn’t have to go above the panel in order to click the image and go to the slides.

That jquery is now working in that it hides the caption and shows it on hover. So that is a step in the right direction.

It doesn’t have to be as elaborate as this site, but I do need the info to be on top of the image and not below.

I put your jQuery in the head area. I don’t see that it did anything.
I also tried it in the footer as well.
So I put it back in the header.
Make sure I did what you were suggesting.

As you can see this is a gallery of thumbs that what I need to have happen is when I hover over any thumb I need it to display some or all of the info I have previously mentioned. I am sure you have seen this type of thing, a lot of times it is seen in a portfolio situation where their is a brochure image and when you hover over it it will display the client name for example.

In my case, I need to display what the food item is with sometimes a description. And sometimes with the photographer credit.

Sort of. I have a page with a gallery of images. And I have inserted placeholder text within each area eg title, caption,alt text, and description. I have done this only on the first image in the gallery for testing only until I determined what would work.

When you say technology, are you asking like j-query? I have tried css, javascript, jquery.

But again, I would like to start from scratch with a watchful eye of someone that knows a lot more about this than me.

Not really because I have tried so many things that I had just gotten so confused that I have pretty much started over.

As you can tell, I’m not much of a coder, my background is graphic design.

I am trying to figure out how to get the next and prev buttons to show up on the left and right of the image about mid-way of vertical. It looks like the image files are there but I can’t figure out what is hiding them. Must be a setting in colorbox, but I really don’t know. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
