As this topic is marked resolved … I will open a new thread.

Sorry to sound like a stuck record but this new version is still failing to import media.

I deactivated the WordPress Importer plugin, installed and activated WordPress Importer Git loader.

I go to Tools -> WordPress -> Run Installer. I import the media XML file. Some images are being imported but the majority are not. In the media library, I can see some of the images but these are not all being displayed on the posts.

Can you please help or recommend another plugin that I can transfer the text and images only from the live database to my development server?

Mystery solved.
There is nothing wrong with the code.
It’s the server running PHP 5.2.
Once I changed to 5.6, all’s okay.

I should have mentioned … this is the first time I am dabbling with WP, so I don’t know how to add/call from functions.php — the documentation is totally clear to me and I have no idea how to create a plugin … would appreciate some help to explain either …
