I have the problem solved – it was posted by a dr.techy who wrote:

“Thanks… It is having conflict with plugin CF& Smart Grid Layout. Thanks for your help.”

I disabled that plugin and now everything works correctly – both the required field field validation and image uploads of larger images.

So now that it is known what the problem is will there be an actual fix?

I am having a similar problem. I am not getting any error messages I am getting a message successfully sent message but only attachments 500K or smaller seem to work. Anything over 1mb almost always fail. I would love to know how you are sending 25mb.

I have the same issue on one of my sites. I posted it in another post. My site is https://blackhillsvendorpark.com/registration/ if all you want is to look at an example.

I am not getting any error messages – it is telling me my message has been sent successfully. And I do get an email with the data fields filled in. But I don’t get any attached images over a certain size. I do get smaller attached images at least sometime.

Does your ‘required field’ work? I set my image uploads as required fields but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I have searched through the forums looking for a solution before I posted my question. I noticed that you responded to most topics regarding file uploads and you almost always posted the same answer. So as I stated I did check the ‘File Uploading and Attachment’ instructions. And as I also mentioned my settings work as long as I am dealing with small images – images under 500k. My problem is with larger images. If you try to upload an image a meg or larger it almost always fails. When I say it fails the only thing that fails is the image attachment. The registration form is sent – it just doesn’t have the attached file it is supposed to have.

How do I get the larger images to work. I don’t see anything in the ‘File Uploading and Attachment’ instructions that refer to that.

I am having 2 issues with my file uploads. First even though I mark the attachments as required they are not. They show the ‘*’ as if they are but it will submit the form without you selecting a file to attach.

My main issue is my file attachments only work once in a while. I do occasionally get the file attachments to come through. But it appears to be only smaller attachments. I am attaching images so they can get huge. Smaller images – under 500k work most of the time – larger images – over 1mg almost never work. Most images taken with smart phones are like 2mg or 3 mg.

I have followed the setup and as I said it works SOMETIMES. I am using the default Twenty Seventeen theme.

Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it so I always get my attachments.

You are right – I changed the theme and everything works again. So – I need to move this to a different forum to figure out what is wrong with that file.

    Thanks.

Well I can – but I hate to because it was so dumb. Basically I uploaded the pictures to the wrong folder. Once I put them in the right place it all worked great.

Never mind my fault. I figured out what I was doing wrong. Sorry.

but that is what is confusing me – looking at it the way you did the pictures are not there.

However, if you use FTP or the CPanel File Manager they are. I uploaded them but they do not appear to show up. Are you telling me I can not add pictures – I have to keep using the same names?

What I find confusing is the fact that both the links in the header and the footer are coded the same. The footer links are not working and you say are controlled by permalinks. But the links in the header do work and are replacing the hard coded page name with the page number and are not controlled by permalinks. So how are the header links working? Where are they getting the page numbers if not through permalinks?

Interesting – in the log my last update is showing esmi posted it. Hope this shows me as poster so esmi knows I answered him.

Nope – either I have a problem or this forum is messed up right now. It shows the correct number of posts – but it shows esmi made the last post and that it was 1 hour ago.

OK – here is the first section of links from the footer.php

    <li><a href="https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/about/">Information</a></li>
    <li><a href="https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/attractions/">Attractions</a></li>
    <li><a href="https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/dining/">Dining</a></li>
    <li><a href="https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/events/">Events</a></li>
    <li><a href="https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/shopping/">Shopping</a></li>

It is the same as the header.php.

So if the header does not use permalinks – why is it substituting the page number in place to the page name. More importantly – if the footer does – why isn’t.

    Thread Starter terry5578

    (@terry5578)

No they were not hard coded. I checked the code and the link code in the footer is identical to the link code in the header.

So are you saying that the footer does not use the permalinks?

I did not create this site. It was not functional when I got it so I am not really sure what worked and what didn’t. At one time I believe the pretty permalinks worked on this site. But I have been unable to get them working again. But I am sure these footer links were working the other day. I am just not sure what I might have changed to mess them up. Currently my permalinks are set to the default using the page #.

Are you saying I need to hard code the page #’s into the links?

You need to be a little more specific about what is wrong. You can’t log in – what does that mean. Are you not getting a log in screen – does it not recognize your id or password. There are a lot of reasons you can’t log in – you need to narrow the field a little to get help.
