almost lost all my uploaded images in the wp-content/uploads folder, but managed to salvage some in the massive delete. re-uploaded 2.7, and finally have things working. good luck to anyone else who might be dealing with probs upgrading to 2.8. i’m just going to wait until i absolutely have to upgrade because this was painful!

Question: What is in the wp-content folder that I need to keep? I didn’t tinker with any of the layouts – just downloaded and installed a theme previously. I can always re-install the theme later once the default is up and running, right?

I’m having the same problem. I hit the automatic upgrade button, and it said upgrade was successful. But now my entire blog is blank. I’m using iPower as my host, and they said they only support 2.7.

I’ve tried a number of fixes I’ve seen online without any luck:
– I’ve tried re-naming my plugins folder to plugins_temp for now (so that should disable all plugins).
– I deleted the extra line break at the end of my wp-config.php
– I re-uploaded all the wordpress 2.8 files manually via ftp
