I reached the same conclusion, moving to Woocommerce with storefront. Never did get my issues with Shopp resolved. May have been a blessing in disguise.
Steve, honestly not sure what version I was running prior to update. I followed the documentation to go to to go to settings>permalinks>click save changes. Did not work.
