Issue solved.

Did check that Emsi, I tried to delete all the contents of .htaccess in the folder one level higher than the site I was trying to do this with.

Thanks for your quick reply though. Any ideas what else I should check?

I had to login to my server via FTP and find the .fantasticodata folder. Than delete installed_in_root.php and it worked golden.
