    Hey Burak,

Thanks very much for the information – man, it was pretty wild that every plugin I tried didn’t work!

Thanks again for the heads-up! And thanks again to you Sal! Have a great weekend!

    Hey Sal,

Thanks again for the tip. I did check out the plugin, which seemed to be more geared only for ‘Pages’ or ‘Groups’ where my client needs one for their profile. I saw the developer does make one for profiles and tried that but couldn’t get it to work – would just show that I had ) Comments on the test post I was trying (when there actually does have comments)

I’m starting to think it might be an issue with the way I set the Facebook App up. It’s got the URLs and email address and I’ve made sure it was Live, but since every comment plugin I’ve tried is giving me the same results (0 Comments) I’m thinking the issue might actually be with the App.

Anyway, I’ll keep testing things but just wanted to say thanks again, Sal, I appreciate it!

    Hi Sal,

Man, I really appreciate your response. Kind of leaves me scratching my head a bit, I thought this plugin was supposed to bring facebook comments over to WordPress.

Do you know of a good plugin that would help me achieve this?

    Thanks again!

    Hey esmi,

I didn’t have access to the php.ini file but I did finally get a hold of hostway’s customer support. The increased the limits in the file but the issue persisted and I haven’t been able to get a hold of their support since.

Solution: I moved the site to Hostgator. Everything works great. I wish I could’ve discovered the problem, but at least the client’s site is running just fine now.

Thank you, everyone, for your input on this!

@cooper, Thanks cooper, I use Fetch for ftp and in earlier versions I used to be able to see the permissions of an item, but with this most current version I can’t find that ability anymore.

Also, the hosting company (hostway) doesn’t use cPanel and I can’t find any file manager in their hosting admin area to check from that side. I’ve sent a ticket to their support team.

    @esmi

Yeah, thanks. I get a varied of different messages, depending on what I’m trying to use to upload a file. Basically the site won’t let me upload files of any kind using any of the methods from the admin area.

    – Can’t upload and insert photos via the posts/pages editor toolbar uploader
    – Can’t upload files via the Media Library (uploader)
    – Can’t use NextGen Galleries to upload photos
    – Can’t upload plugins or themes (zip files)

Here’s the message I get when trying to use the uploader in the page/post editor.

“” has failed to upload due to an error
File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.

    Thanks guys,

    Ted

    Hey Esmi,

thank you very much for your quick response.

I’ve done everything you suggested and the issue still exists. I can’t install any plugins or themes from my hard drive (zip format), and I can’t upload any media files (jpg is all I’ve tried) from any of the upload options….

    – media library
    – upload/insert media uploader in posts/page toolbar
    – nextgen gallery uploader

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks for the reply, George.

Typically, when I install a theme from my hard drive, it’s a zip file that I install through the admin area.

    themes > install > upload

It uploads and installs the theme from the zip file.

I just want my clients to be able to use that method with this theme.

    Hey Steve,

I have a client who’s site I installed WordBooker. It’s working great with one exception. He’s got it set so it retrieves comments from his facebook profile and adds them to the blog post. It does that perfectly, but then the blog posts it back to his facebook profile again. It stops there, doesn’t keep looping. Any thoughts.

    Here’s his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/keith.ahrens

You can see this effect on the post about “Happy Thanksgiving”

    Anyway, just an fyi.

    Thanks Steve,

    Ted
