All fixed; sure helps if one looks around, huh?
I have solved part of my situation in that I posted a test message to my categories. Now all I need to make right is for “joe internet user” to be able to reply to my daily posts. After that I can concentrate on learning how to make my weblog’s appearance distinctive. At this time, no one can reply unless they are “logged in”, and I cannot do it as a “stranger” from another machine. As my own admin, I cannot get the (what I perceive to be) the correct action when I click on “users can (register themselves) or you can manually create users here”. Maybe I’m not supposed to allow strangers to reply? Anyway, still a bit stuck on this one.
Thanks you for your reply; I knew of that, but found here something about changing the sidebar.php file. Problem being there is no evidence of the code which had to be changed to “show” or left at the default, “hide empty categories”. I would have thought it would be in the CSS files. Anyway, besides that I cannot post to anything but the “uncategorized” one, and then only if I login as admin. So in closing this long-winded diatribe, I cannot see where in the “dashboard” or anywhere in the admin page to set anything other than myself, or else add new users before they arrive, which of course, is impossible. I will keep looking for it hoping someone here knows what I should do.
