In reply to: [Polylang] Permalinks 404 not foundI am having the same issue. Not sure what the cause is.
As per my diagnosis until now, I see that there should be some issue with the server’s configuration you’re using.
Most of the online resources I’ve seen point to only one problem i.e., with the mod_rewrite on Apache library.Check if the mod_rewrite function is being loaded/included in your Apache conf file and include it if is not.
Let me know if this solves the problem.

In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangFound an issue. The translation doesn’t work as well.
I mean, when I clicked on the language switcher, I should have all the menu items changed to other language. But they still remain english when I clicked espanol. The translation terms are also not converted. I see only english content instead of espanol.
1) If you check “Hide URL language information for default language”, does it work?
2) Another test, if you deactivate Polylang, have you access to the default content?
Answers
1) No. The same issue continues. I get “The requested url /pageurl/ was not found on this server.” error2) No. The same issue continues.
The below settings solved the problem temporarily. However need to figure out the issue and revert the settings back for the site to go live.
1. Changed the permalink structure to default.Ex: https://www.site_url.com/?p=123. Earlier it was postname.
2. Polylang settings updated to: “The language is set from content”. Earlier, it was “The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks”
Now the other pages in the site could be accessed. But as I said, need to figure out the issue and revert the settings for the site to go live so that SEO is not affected.

In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangIt’s the issue with all the content. I tried all english & spanish pages.
The issue I suppose should be with the language slug which is introduced by polylang.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangYeah. I’ve tried that immediately after finding the issue. No luck!!
There should be something with the server configuration which is not allowing polylang to work as desired. May be something do do with the mod_rewrite.
I’m using XAMPP on my local(Win8) and the server uses the default Apache installation on Linux.

In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangSure. The error is actually from the server, not wordpress.

In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangHi Chrystl,
Yes. I have english & spanish posts. And homepage is set to static.
That is what I mentioned in “My Settings” section in the question.
My settings
===========
Permalinks: postname
Static Front Page
Polylang settings: es & en, left to right
The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks
Remove /language/ in pretty permalinks
The front page url contains the language code instead of the page name or page id
When the front page is visited, set the language according to the browser preferenceForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Polylang] Urls not identified when moved to a different server with PolylangI don’t have any folder “en”.
As per the settings in Polylang, The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks.
The default homepage for english is displayed on https://siteurl/en
I tried getting help from Polylang support but no luck.
I also tried to give all languages array to the language parameter, expecting it to return results from all languages. It still doesn’t work.
Thanks for your support Mikko.
Hi Mikko,
Thank you for the reply.
I was also thinking on the similar lines and tried to clear the language variable.
But seems like it is being reset to the current language somewhere else.Added the above function and still there is no difference in the search results.
