I have no idea what might go wrong when you are surfing the site, but in my virtualbox, the site is working without problems:

Maybe you could try downloading Virtualbox, install an Ubuntu with the Debian package of Chrome and take a look if it works?

Colorbox itself works for every link (even iFrames or videos), as you can see on the Colorpowered Website. (left hand side, demonstration links)

I wrote the plugin in a way that limits the Colorbox functionality to thumbnails only.
If there are more people who want this feature, I could try to find a solution in one of the next updates.

I just tested my website with Chrome 5.0.342.9 on Ubuntu 10.04 with no problems whatsoever.
I did a clean install of Ubuntu and downloaded the Chrome package from google.com.

I just saw that you have uploaded the images as a WordPress gallery.
When you set the gallery to link directly to the pictures instead of attachment pages, the Colorbox should work directly on this page:

If you activate the plugin again (at the time I am writing this, the plugin is deactivated), it will also work if the gallery continues linking to attachment pages, but then it will work on the attachment pages for the pictures linked there, e.g. https://honkbaldocumentary.com/the-team/al-morales/

on Chrome on OSX and on Windows I have no problems using the plugin.
I will set up a virtual machine with Ubuntu 10.04 and test later today. Don’t know what I can do about a browser misbehaving on one operating system only, though.

when you insert images that you want jQuery Colorbox to work on please make sure that the field “Link URL” contains the URL to the original file (click on “File URL” directly below the “Link URL” field).

since the size of the Colorbox is not known before showing the picture, there is no way to configure showing the title in two or more lines.
Most probably it would be possible to do that on-the-fly using JavaScript by modifying the Colorbox JavaScript library, but I can’t help you with that.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a reliable way for the Colorbox to stay centered when scrolling.
You could hide the scrollbars of the browser window by adding this JavsScript code to your page:

$(document).bind(?cbox_open‘, function(){ ?? ? $('body').css({overflow:'hidden'});
}).bind('cbox_closed', function(){ 

? ? $('body').css({overflow:'auto'});
});

You could ask at the Colorbox Google Group, maybe someone can help you there.
