Have you enabled the status category’s in the admin panel?

If I’m understanding your problem correctly, you need to setup more directory’s and then designate which directory you want your posts to go as I’ve done here

Change your permalinks to “/%postname%/” .. Google loves long page titles, but not with the date included.
