Hi Corey & Andy;
Understand. I don’t envy plugin authors. I sure hope that sites like Twitter support all the plug-in authors in their endeavours at writing good utilities to extend twitter feeds onto websites, etc.
This plugin worked the best & most reliably for me for the past 6 months. Twitter Widget Pro, did work, then wouldn’t update. Always had locks on & I had to clear. Finally ditched several months ago to this one – now the API at twitter changed. I use plug-ins because I do NOT want to “muck” with code. The rotatingtweets mentioned above looks OK, except it only shows 1 tweet at a time – would prefer if it flashed 3-5 at a time for 10 secs or so. Also, I am not confident that it’s interface works with the new twitter API ??
Again, I don’t endeavor to be a programmer, so want a good stable plug-in.
If anyone comes across any that look nice on a website, please let me/us know.
I still prefer this one, if the author can fix soon enough – “Latest Twitter Sidebar Widget” ??
Thx
TSame problem. Been using for months – ran great.
Then for no reason (I didn’t install anything – no WP upgrades )and it has been 11 days ago since last post shown. My twitter is updating – I do daily posts, but doesn’t show in this widget.
What gives ?
Any ideas? Fixes ?

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] Does One Thing WellHi Aaron;
Any idea why this plug-in is broken (has been) for the past several weeks?
I suspect it is twitter mucking with their API & NOT telling/supporting all developers such as yourself?
Any idea when this will resolve?
When it works, this plugin works very well. Was working very reliably up until a week or 2 ago – I only tweet once/day but would like my feed to be updated on my WP site.
It also UPDATE LOCKS all the time now. I suppose twitter is overloading so they are limiting apps such as this to access them.
Some formatting would be nice also.
Thanks

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] Feed not updatingBTW, did this test several times.
I am on shared IP with my hosting provider – BlueHost
I reach my 150 limit in about 10-12 mins.
This has been quite consistent over the last 3 weeks or so, when I have randomly done the test – just go into twitter widget pro settings and keep hitting browser refresh to watch the count go up.
Appears that when you hit your 150 limit, that is when the LOCK comes on – and never clears by itself.
Manually clear it. No one can be expected to do this every hour
It worked great for several months then stopped about 2 weeks ago. So somehthing changed – maybe twitter tweaked their API & never told any developers – probably too busy & focused to lend them any support either.
End result ? Us users are stuck with poor integrity plugins ;(

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] Feed not updatingI have had enough – still not updating – don’t have the time to baby-sit this widget. Quite possible that any API changes at twitter also causes such problems, so not totally the developers fault. Not convinced that Twitter supports the 3rd party application makers either – by giving advance warning of API changes.
Does anyone have a substitute widget we can use on our websites?
This week-end I am going to search, find & install another twitter widget. If the people behind Twitter Widget Pro can’t support our problem in the weeks (actually months), then I/we are moving on.
Collectively we have spent way too much time ;(
If anyone finds something comparable, I/We would appreciate hearing about it.

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] Feed not updatingAgree with WolfSnap – great when it works – and it was for me till about 2 weeks ago – and I didn’t change / do anything.
Yes, you can clear the locks manually, BUT the lock keeps coming back, so this isn’t a solution. Also, when I cleared locks that past 2 weeks, it did NOT update, like it use to.
I am ready to rip it out – plugins like this cannot be “baby-sat”. I (like many of you) have content to write / focus on.
I too tried several things & nothing worked. Anyone elaborate please on what “LOCKS” are? Something to do with our hosting server I believe, but HOW can we fix that also. The locks appear to happen more regularly now, whereas before, when mine worked reliably. May be that twitter changed their API, as I did NOT make any changes – was happy that it was working.
……… yuk ……. ;(

In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] Feed not updatingAgree – But now I am having a problem with UPDATE LOCKS occuring. I am posting to twitter once daily, BUT just checked and my twitter widget on my website is 6 days old. Checked & sure enough – there is a UPDATE LOCK. I greatly dislike having to “babysit” technology. When it works, it works great – will update for several days even a week or 2, then it freezes and after checking, it’s ALWAYS the lock.
Yes, I am only using Twitter API via HTTP (not HTTPS) as per the note
On the API Usage, the host I use now is such that my 150 will be used up in about 10 mins. I have watched several times and it is consistent – maybe I will make 15 mins sometimes. But updating my twitter widget every hour is OK – as long as it is reliable & I can count on it. But the UPDATE LOCK problem I describe above, is a totally unacceptable condition.
P.S. I believe I always did have a lock problem.
Does anyone know the fix for this? I can’t keep baby-sitting this plugin like this ??Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Twitter Widget Pro] [Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro] Rate Limit ExceededReply to Aarons remark – Twitter Widget Pro will only ever make 12 API calls per hour.
I have 2 websites both running Twitter Widget Pro – same settings but following 2 different twitter accounts. Both use API calls at the same rate in unison ( I watch them count up on 2 different screens ) – both make 150 API calls in approx. 10 mins.
Then when I wait 50 more mins for the counter to reset, both make the same rate of API calls again – approx. 150 calls in 10 mins.
So what gives? Why is my Twitter Widget Pro (2.4.1)make so many?
The way it runs now, both NEVER pick up my twitter posts because they are maxed out and waiting for the 50 mins to run out. Thanks

In reply to: Podpress won't work on single posts.I already have podpress 8.8.4 installed on thesis.
Looking at how to upgrade to 8.8.6.2 above.
Unfortunately, PodPress in my Thesis install does NOT have an UPDATE button.
So, is it safest to uninstall first, then installOR
just install over top ???
Don’t want to break my 18 published podcasts already. ( I have enough work to do )
Thanks
