whooops – i think…

…I have just solved it – it is very bizarre,

on my settings page, i had my wordpress address as https://www.consumerbitch.co.uk/consumer (cus this is where the files were) and then in my blog address I had https://www.consumerbitch.co.uk/

I have just changed it so that my wordpress and my blog address are the same

this seems to have solved the problem – using the above as my index.htm

….very strange – but seems ok now ??

hey thanks!I tried out option 1 and all i could see was what I had put into my index.html, so I tried option 2, and could only see what i had written in index.php – do I now need to do a re-install from fresh files?

(I logged into admin, and when I clicked onto visit site, it went to consumerbitch.co.uk, but read as above)

woohoo!!! I called my providers and they said that they had not enabled my .php script or something like that! apparently it will all be find in a couple of hours!!!

thanks for getting back to me – i am currently blogging on just the regular wordpress.com site, but I had my domain name (www.consumerbitch.co.uk) diverted to my wordpress site…

when I type in the above address it pings back like this:

https://tassanie.wordpress.com/htdocs etc etc…

I have tried, as you advised to install in the root file, but it is really weired! I think I am going to call my provider!

I have uploaded everything into my folders, according to my host, it needs to go into a folder call “htdocs” so that’s where I uploaded it, and named it wordpress – so into my addy bar I type:

https://www.mydomain.com/htdocs/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

and I just get back to my own blog with the above quote!

i am a complete newbie here, the blog, before I installed it was directed through my domain name – I don’t get it ??

maybe I should just give up and get someone to install for me – but then I won’t learn – boo hoo! poor me!
