The folder already existed before I installed WordPress and it contained many html files that I am in the process of converting into WordPress. What would you recommend in this case?

No – none of the wordpress files show up in the directory b/c multisite handles all the member sites differently and does not put them there (e.g. the index.php, wp-load.php, etc.) I am starting to think that I cannot create a member site in a directory that already exists?

THANK YOU! I knew I was supposed to add the depth, but I didn’t find the wp_list_pages in the header.php file. I had not checked the functions.php so I did and that is where it was located. Thank you so very much!
