I’m so sorry to “bump” this but I cannot find an edit button for my original post. I wanted to add that I THINK the problem started when I updated wordpress to 3.3.1. I am almost positive it was working properly before the update. Does that help?
Dang, I just posted the same question! I DID do a search, then posted my question. Then did another search and here you are chicknamedd! Sorry to wordpress for the redundancy. To answer YOUR question though Chick, YES, I am having the same problem, and I have not played with the syle’s css at all so I’m quite sure I personally did not mess up the code.
I do really like this plugin though. That is if I can get this little glitch worked out!

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]esmi, I’m looking at the css and I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know where to start. I don’t want to comment out the search form bc I DO want to use the search, I just don’t want it in my header. Right now I’m using it in the footer, but that may change, I’m not sure yet. I just know that I want my header to be very clean – most of my users are accessing with mobile devices.
Should I post the code here? maybe you or someone else can help me if I post the entire css stylesheet here?

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]OK, CSS – I guess I need to try the fire bug and hopefully I’ll be able to find the problem?
Good to know I’m in a class with theme developers. I always considered myself a noob that don’t know nothin’, and using the wrong software bc I don’t know any better! LOL
Thanks esmi, I guess it’s up to me to try and figure this out.

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]Thank you esmi, I will look into the firefox firebug add-on. Currently I do any html work in a very simple format, notepad ++. I’m “old school”! LOL
I still need to know WHAT to do. I can’t do this alone. I looked at the css once already and didn’t see what I needed. I’m hoping to get some help with this.
So here’s the question again: when I removed the search bar from the title line on my twenty eleven child theme, it left an empty area that the title doesn’t use. I would like to eliminate the empty area.
Thanks!

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]But I’m still stuck. I really want my title to reach across that white space and stop wrapping and being all crunched up in the left corner. I’m willing to fool around with the code to do it, but I’m not PHP proficient so I need help knowing exactly what to do. I know a little more about HTML than php. Anyone?

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]Yes, Chip’s fix does work, but it doesn’t “free up” the area where the search box was previously located, once you remove it. That area is still there, a white empty box.
Hey Stacy, you can also accomplish what you did to your site without messing with code. Just go to your dashboard, and on the lefthand side: appearance, then header, scroll down the right side (big part) and check NO for Display Text. The text will disappear, no coding required. You’ll keep your pic.

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]Thank you Stacy, I truly appreciate your help but that didn’t work for me. It removed the entire header text. I want to keep the text, just remove the white space where the search box once was. I want the text of the title and subtitle to take up the whole space at the top. My goal is to make this site very mobile friendly.
Anyone else have an idea?

In reply to: Remove search box [Twenty Eleven]Hello, I am trying to follow the directions posted here rather than starting a new question.
I created my child theme, I commented out the search form, and now there’s a big empty white space there. How do I get the title and subtitle to stop being all crunched up on the left and take that space instead?

In reply to: Looking for the perfect calendar plugin/widgetHello MisterYYC! Yes, I did find something that suits my needs. It doesn’t do everything I was hoping for and printing is a bear (I have to do a prnt scrn, then paste into powerpoint and crop) but the calendar itself is amazing. It allows multiple users, and it also separates the entries into categories which is AWESOME. That way, my den leaders can view only THEIR den’s activities if they like, which helps them plan for their subsequent meetings and such. It’s by Erin Miller – I think that’s the programmer’s name, and it’s called ajax event calendar, something like that. You can go here to see it on my site if you like: https://www.scoutsonline.org/pack454 and click the calendar link. I LOVE IT! I hope Erin will one day add print functions but until then, my pack has learned how to work around it. GREAT plugin.

In reply to: Need help with sidebarI just looked at your site and yep, the sidebar is gone. You can’t simply move the widgets back? If not, I’d follow alchymyth’s advice. I also wanted to tell you that the picture/words in your rotating screen are moving a bit too fast for me to read. Can you slow that down a bit? Either that, or re-think the wording/make it shorter? Just my two cents, for what they are worth!
I like the look of the site. It’s nice!
