This theme convinced me to stop writing my own themes

  • For the past 8 years or so I’ve been writing my own custom themes because I’ve never found a theme that I really liked enough to commit to it for both client (agency) work and for my company’s own internal properties.

    I no longer do any agency work but if I did I’d use Astra.

    I do, however, own a company that has a half-dozen or so internal web properties. We’ve been transitioning all of these to Astra and we’re very happy.

    I’ve been able to modify the few things I don’t like very easily a few hooks and everything else is managed very simply via the customizer options.

    We haven’t moved our main ecommerce site (yet) but it’s on our roadmap for 2019.

    Additionally, as a plugin developer Astra is our favorite theme to recommend to our users. The Astra team has both contributed to my plugin and has accepted contributions from my team to their theme. This *is* how the WordPress ecosystem should be working. We should all be working together to ensure compatibility between our various products and Astra engages in that ecosystem.
