For fixing the “Allowed memory size”-problem, go to your wp-settings.php and change to the following at the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT directive (You probably have 32 there):define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
……………………………..I had ’32’ and changed it to ’64’.
That fixed it all.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Issues with Atahualpa 3.4.4Hello witchybrit,
Atahualpa theme, is an eye opener, that almost scares one into just quitting it.
Are you still having a problem!
Am using and still learning it with the tutorial I located, yes its a few bucks, but worth it.(no I’m not an affiliate)
See how it is progressing here:
https://www.thetalker.org
Iam also using Xampp lite as a localhost to experiment with the theme and looking better ‘use wise’ as time progresses.https://friendlycomputertraining.com/wordpress/beginners-atahualpa-tutorial/

In reply to: Database Upgrade Required: Not Working (WP 2.9)Hello To All,
As I’ve voiced it, WordPress is at times, ‘change for the sake of change’. Numerous feature are being tucked in, with not enough testing before release. When does WordPress, once again become a stable version for more then a few weeks! Used version 2.3.3, and most of it’s convinces were taken out. So I held off as long as I could. Did post my battles with prior upgrading.
In that some newer themes were wanted by me, with great trepidations, did again upgrade to ver 2.9.
This time all went well.
Ah though, accessing my multi-blog sites for posting is still a clumbsy awkward process. Don’t misunderstand me here, WordPress is a fantastic free platform, but sheesh, how I long for the ver 2.3.3 layout, and dashboard.
The new theme, Atahualpa is the reason why I finally upgraded. Much to still learn with this new theme and the recent WP upgrade.
I venture to say, I will eventually get used to how the crowded the new version is, and quite dreaming how accessable version 2.3.3 was.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Show post/page IDsHi To All,
Well now, seems that my blog is stable with my way of doing a multi-blog posting. As I rechecked the updated versions of WordPress, no progress was made toward making posting easier for a blog like mine.Would really like to update to the latest version for many reasons, but I’m leary of doing so. Neat as the new versions are reported to be, it is still an awkward to use (for me) platform, from my look-sees at it. Nothing flashy (like many photos or ads) on my blog, just a simple bogging platform, that gets the job done. If you happen to visit my site, and see where some changes could be applied, and know how to apply it, would be appreciated.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Show post/page IDsHi To All,
Have used the latest versions of WP, on my localhost site. Still very awkward to use as a blogging platform. Seems WP is after progress and newness at any cost, ignoring what made the program good for bloggers. So am still with 2.3.3, for real blogging without the tears and frustration of the newest versions. The new version is neat, dont misunderstand what I say, just not neat for a multi-blog.Here I had used the theme generator, with fair results, as unable to find a theme suitable for my use.

In reply to: I don’t like the way 2.5 is goingHello All,
Still staying with the older version of WP.
Will at another date retry the latest version on my fake localhost setup. Took a lot of doing to restore the original version after the disastrous switchover. Am gun shy now, and do not want a repeat of that event. Did try ver 2.5.1, it still had all the good stuff gone, that made my blogging smooth. So here is what I finally got it all down to.

Still need to get RSS and subscribe functions to work on the current theme , which was made with Theme Generator.
Any one with the know how to add in the mentioned functions, I would appreciate the advice.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Changing background color for dummies! ;^)Hi All,
I go bonkers, when the information offered to newbies (like me) on how to change or modify things in WP.I want to post, not take on a new learning curve, as required with WP. Great program, that is not the issue. It is when some thing needs to be added or modified is the big cloud of “what do you mean” enters. Even more maddening are some “oh all you need to do is ……. Clang clang alang goes the trolley.
Oh well, back to banging my head on the wall.

In reply to: I don’t like the way 2.5 is goingHi,
any one found a plugin to revert BACK to ver 2.3.3, from 2.5. All I want to do is my posting, not mess around trying to post and correcting imported posts from Blogger. Had made great progress using ver 2.3.3, this was all messed up switching to ver 2.5. Perhaps if I had not started with 2.3.2 and upgraded to 2.3.3, it would have been OK.
am ready to look for alternatives or go back to Blogger.
Soooo, anyone, a plugin to revert back to normal insanity.Forum: Developing with WordPress
In reply to: Application for maintaining / upgrading multiple WP blogsJust came across this .
I know that the situation will improve, and it is, slowly but surely. At least it shows that there is/are brilliant hard working individuals listening to ones pleas for “good” changes. I am thankful for this ID change. Now pleae, restore the “Manage posts and pages” section to be like ver 2.3.3 was.
Thank You for the “good”changes.{puts the post ID handily alongside of the post)

In reply to: Application for maintaining / upgrading multiple WP blogsWith the shiny new WP ver 2.5 in full bloom, can only say,”what a disgusting step backwards” as regards what was removed from “manage posts and pages” in relation to WP ver 2.3.3.

In reply to: Show post/page IDsI used the post/ page #ID to create blog and index listings.Had posted for help doing an index /listing and received no answer. Archaic as it may be, what I did ,works.
https://www.thetalker.org/
If there is a better way, would appreciate the guidance to a better method.
In ver 2.3.3 once learned the “manage posts/pages” and using the ID’s, was my solution to a working index. I’m stuck now, in updating the existing posts to reflect the WordPress blog instead of the Blogger blog.
I nned the ver 2.3.3 method, to retain my normal insanity factors.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Where is 2.5?Had just got 2.3.3 to be useable, went to version 2.5. For me it is unusable as the Manage Posts and Pages section changed, eliminating the very best features of that section. Any way to easily go back to 2.3.3 , otherwise will need to find another program that suits my needs. Not a knock against WordPress per-se, once one has the basics learned, it really purrs. I depended on the ease of the ID access, and access to view the eight major blog segments I have. No longer can do it the same way. The method used in ver 2.33 to capture the Post ID and view postd and Pages in Manage were ideal for me. Please bring it back.

In reply to: Automattic Stats plugin relies on WP.com, FYIOK, got some progress.
Now, regardless of which API key I try, all I get is this notice:Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (bythetalker) is not on the access list for this blog. When this blog was registered, thetalker’s API key was used. To add you to the access list, thetalker must visit this blog’s stats dashboard page and use the form at the bottom of that page.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Where is the blasted form one is asked to fill in at the bottom of the page? Unable to find a form at either of the two sites: WP.org and WP.com.
ThanksForum: Plugins
In reply to: Automattic Stats plugin relies on WP.com, FYIWeary Hi To All,
WP 2.3.3
Stats plugin.
On WP.org.
All went well until Clicking on Stats.
Screen comes up asking for WP.com signin.
At this point I realize this is a horese of another color and is nor the same as WP.org.
Nothing I enter takes, shows errors of Username and / or password.
Then another error shows up stating the email (mine) is already taken and is in use! How can that be? I try my alternate email, and that shows up as also being taken. I used the same same WP.org KEY when I activated the stats plugin. So I now have an activated stats plugin that I can’t access!
What needs to be done or changed.
