In reply to: some of my page layouts are messed upThat may have happened while I was manipulating the files (uploading/ downloading/ experimenting). Right now it shows a screwed up layout. Please take another look when you can. Thanks

In reply to: How do I over-ride the Kubrick css?alchymyth, thank you so much for your prompt responses. I think I’ve solved my problem though. The book I have, “WordPress Theme Design” instructs you how to upload your own custom theme by manipulating the information at the top of the style.css file and I did it. Previously I kept getting the Kubrick header because that was the theme I initially chose. After I uploaded my own style sheet I went to Appearance – themes, and my custom style sheet was visible, along with others from other authors. I pressed “activate” under my theme and my theme was then applied to my website in place of the Kubrick theme. There are still a few kinks to work out but I think the major problem has been solved. Thanks again for your help.

In reply to: How do I over-ride the Kubrick css?….Also; I’d changed the background image and image directory for the #page tag that you mentioned but the layout ignores my changes and keeps presenting whats in the template

In reply to: How do I over-ride the Kubrick css? This is the url https://activecitizensunited.com/ I’ve written css for the entire page but my header and footer css is being over-written by the orginal template css. The sidebar is styled by this template css too but it’s fine because i want to keep it but as you can see, the header and footer look out of place.
If I go into the admin panel and go under appearance >> custom header I can see the template css but I’m not able to change it.
What should I do?

In reply to: Where do you place the article text?thx Chris. It WAS a stupid question. I’m doing a custom wp site from scratch (for the first time) and I’m reading the book as I’m going, and my heads all into it and I completely forgot about the hosted admin pages. Thanks for your prompt response.
